As most of you know, I live about an hours drive north of Brisbane. I don't think any of you, except adg, have been to this beautiful city.
It has been declared a disaster area after the worst storms in 25 years. Also country areas south have copped it too. We had a long drought and now WHAMO the reverse.
Where I live we've just gotten alot of welcome rain and some wind thank goodness we never get the really bad stuff here.
So there are many who have lost their homes or their roofs etc. and several lives have been lost.

Please send vibes across the Pacific to these people who are fearing more rain and storms in the next few days which will hamper cleanup and recovery.

The vibes are going. I hope your parents are out of the danger area, too.

The more I hear, the more Australia sounds like Texas, with an even funnier accent and some very weird animals (besides the two-legged ones).

Thank you all for your thoughts. Some people have been hit twice and more storms expected tonight and tomorrow night. Luckily none of my family have been badly affected. Some friends have lost foodstuffs because of long power outages. I just hope the next lot of storms don't hit so hard but winds of 90klm hour are expected this evening.

I visited Australia several years ago...my stop in Brisbane was very brief, but it was beautiful!
