Thanks everyone !! I have been off the group W bench for a spell but I knew I could count on you guys for a chonklit cake greeting.

I thought Arlo's music got me through some tough times last year......beware for who the bell tolls !!...... Our moose friend down in VA (Cheryl,..? Terri ?...sorry I can't remmeber everything,...say who said that ?) will get this drift.....

Last spring the Mrs. crashed her VW into a utility pole, rebounded off it and took out a "Mass Pike this way" sign due to a massive episode of hypoglycemia (I now rigged her car so it wont start unless her glucometer is on board). Though they cut her out of the car with the jaws of life, she had not a scratch, <though>....though the car and the sign did not make it. Sufficient to say we have all had a bad case of the PTSD's since and ironically a few days later our Music Therapy conference was happening at the Cranmore in Lenox, where I was due to present an experiential lecture "Not Just for Thanksgiving Anymore,..The Music of Arlo Guthrie, the Guthrie Family and it's Application in Music Therapy Practice"...Suffice to say I had to cancel. I'm afraid to leave her alone, and have unfortunately had to dial 911 on an occasion for the same reason (Hey to be diabetic for 43 years and have no gigantic problems....the shoe was going to drop at some point) Some of my collegues went to visit the Church to say a few prayers for us and as a show of solidarity. The music therapy folks will let me do it next year,..but in Lenox,...it was to be excellent. Anyhow we muddle forward one day at a time. Every once in a while I'll listen to a Arlo song (or other songs), it will hit a nerve and I'll snap like a twig. Hey it's OK,...to bring your feelings to the music,....thank God for a place to go with them.....

So ramblin on for a while some of you guys that have been around here for a while and the new folks just let say that I am so grateful to be associated with such a fine group of human beings as you could find here on the bench. I'm looking forward to fall,......it's Arlo season up here,....I get to play my mutated version of Alice's restaurant for the patients at Westborough State Hospital........and after everything the year has brought I got myself a birthday present to play it on,......a D-30 Custom Rosewood Martin Guitar,.........man it sings.

"every whisper in the wind, brings a good man back again,...settle me down in my dreams tonight, ....tomorrows another day to blow my blues away"

Kevin,

I'm so glad to hear that your wife is physically okay after such a serious accident. Sending lots and lots of blundervibes for the emotional and psychic healing that she (and you) need... HUGS

There are several diabetics here, just not all of us talk about it a lot. This one sends Blundervibes for continued healing and lots of good music!

Wow, so sorry to hear about your wife. Hope she & you are doing better now. I've never had a hypo while driving so far. We've never had to call 911 on Mike & I so far. Very fortunate so far. Mike almost died in his sleep twice & went to heaven. he did come back reporting that Woody G & Elvis were there. I had to give him instant glucose to revive him. So scary. he changed insulins since then & his hypos aren't as bad now. So sorry to hear about others having diabetes on here. Good luck with it...
