Johnny and Sarah put in a lot of air miles last week and the airline lost Johnny's 1969 Gibson Dove. He was pretty bummed, but hopeful it would be found.

I'm sending lots of "find-your-way-home" vibes to the Dove! What a beautiful instrument!

WOW,,bummer :( I hope he is on their case big time or has someone on it.A good friend has worked ground crew for many years and he said best to make lots of noise and go beyond the regular channels of the airline "kiss butt,we,ll fix it up folks".Hoping this dove finds its way back to the nest real soon.

:( ...What a crying shame! Sounds like that guitar means so much to him..I would be very pissed too if a very valuable possession close to my heart was lost. I personally do not trust airlines with extra baggage. Every time I travel I bring a huge carry-on bag. If I were in Johnny's shoes I would make the airline company pay the price big time!! If you know what mean!

Hopefully they just misplaced/misdirected it. Airlines are terrible with instruments. A lot of folks travel with "road" guitars and leave their precious ones for home or the studio. Here's hopes and vibes to ya gettin' yer Gibson back safe and sound, Johnny. It's probably just taking the scenic route!

Mother #%$!*&# airlines!

Some years back folksinger Tom Paxton wrote a song about his negative experience with Republic Airlines. Seems they broke the neck on his guitar and his response was to write a song about it which he would sing at all his concerts.

Quite a while ago, Jonathan Edwards played at a club in Avon, CT (The Pentangle, no longer there, if anyone from the area might read this). He showed up over an hour late, if I remember correctly. The reason was the now defunct People's Express airline did the same thing to his guitar. Broke the neck! The club had to ask the audience if anyone lived close by who had a guitar that he could use for the evening. Luckily someone did.

I don't get how the hell they can break guitars that are in hardshell cases!?! You really almost have to want to!

But enough of this broken guitar stuff. Keep a positive thought and hope for Johnny's Dove being recovered in perfect shape!

I remember that Tom Paxton song! I used to know a 10 year old boy who loved it, and would request it if his folks took him to see Tom. It would take Tom by surprise--he'd be expecting that the kid would want to hear one of his kid's songs.

But anyway, good luck, Johnny! I hope your guitar is just having a nice vacation, and will be back in your arms soon!

Man that is bad. Sure hope they can find his guitar. It sounds like a rare & treasured one. Vibes & prayers for him & the family...
