Hi everyone. You might remember almost 2 years ago when Ellen let everyone know about my heart attack. Well now she needs your prayers.

One night last week, she lost the vision in her left eye. It didn't last long, but it scared the daylights out of her. She went to the eye doc the next day and he said that he thought it might be a circulatory problem and ordered a carotid artery ultrasound.

Later she went to her cardiologist (since my heart attack, she's kept up with her own health) who ordered more tests. Her BP was high (140/?) and that's not normal for her at all. We both normally are around 90/60. So he told her to get a BP monitor and keep track over the next week. Well today she emailed me to tell her it's still too high. She has another appointment for more tests tomorrow. She's only 48, doesn't smoke or drink.

Please keep her in your prayers. I can't even get back there to be with her! She's still in PA. Thanks.

Her field of vision test went well and the color-blindness seems to have resolved itself. Might have been a "mini stroke-like episode" and the ophthalmologist released her...

She now follows up with cardiologist and a neurologist. She sounded good the 2 minutes I could speak with her earlier while I was at work.

Thanks for the good wishes. Please keep them coming, as she has more doc appts in 2 weeks... and her BP's still high.

Vibes being sent.

It may just be a mini stroke it is possible to have them and never even know. I have an enderly writer friend (73) She has numerus health problems and only found out that she had had two mini strokes when she when to her doctor for something comepleatly unrelated. When she thought back she could work out when they were, about a year before she remembered that her vision sudenly whent they a moment later came back and she felt very fluish, she managed to get home but felt off for a week or so, but put it down to migrains and flu. she is as well as she normaly is now.

Hope that she is better very soon.
Ps I don't want this to sound as though I'm wishing ill health on you but it dosn't seem like two years ago since you were ill.

Beverly, I know it doesn't seem like 2 years... sometimes it seems like just a few months ago, other times it seems like light years away. Thanks for your comments about mini-strokes. Seems very possible.
