Big weekend here,we have "The Bluesfest" all weekend a great band tonight from the east coast "Great Big Sea" lots of great tunes,I really like their version of "The Chemical Workers Song"...Tommorrow night at a diffrent event/venue Crosby Still Nash and Young,wish I could attend that one for sure!!..Speaking of Neil I hear he is hosting Farm Aid this year,way cool !!! So glad he recovered from his aneurysm Keep on rocking in the free world!!!.
As well at bluesfest Rickie Lee Jones is playing one night,thinking I might try to get to that one .

Every Saturday night here in ABQ is Summerfest... tomorrow night is John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers... I know Lance liked him many many years ago, but I know nothing about him and his band. Anyone care to comment?

Next week is The Rascals and Oldies night... them I remember

if you like Brit Blues he's one of the elite, always a stellar band, perty goog guitar himself but truly excels on the harmonica. only time he shared recorded space with Arlo (i know of) was the Sonny and Brownie recording, Arlo was on Sail Away john was on most everything but his real effort was white boy lost in the blues, always a heck of a show when i saw him

Going to see Superman in 3-D at the IMAX this afternoon. Has anyone else noticed how the world's gone to shit since we've had no Superman and no Star Trek? Maybe this will be a turning point ...

....John Mayall is a favorite of mine for many years ..... probably his most famous harp work is on a tune called "Room to Move" which came out in the late 60's early 70's.....and the Bluesbreakers were his band back then....

...i saw them a couple of years ago again....John is about 70....but still is amazing on the harp....his last song in his set was his most famous.....close to 15 minutes with some pretty remarkable riffs for anyone....these days he has been touring with John Hammond, a great blues guitarist and vocalist...

...i'd recommend you don't miss him, Terrie!....if that kind of music appeals to you at all....

Thanks, everyone. I didn't go because around 5 PM we got winds gusting around 50 mph and then wicked lightning/thunder/pelting rain storms. As soon as the eastbound storm passed, we got one coming up from the south. It's almost 8 and it's still raining. Oh well... next week is The Rascals and Oldies night.

just saw pirates of the caribbean...captain jack sparrow is anything but subtle...i just love that character.

yeah, i can see that to some degree (and they keep taunting us with that), but johnny's got some other kind of flair going on there too. after i saw the first "pirates" i heard somewhere keith would appear in a sequel (so far i haven't seen him, unless i was looking right at him and didn't recognize him)...so maybe he'll be in the next one...i keep hearing stuff but who knows...

i decided one day i was in love with keith richards (well not really in love like that but, you know what i mean) when i was flipping through the channels and saw him there with a big grin, hacking and wheezing (but really he was laughing) and he was going on about something (and i didn't understand a word that he said) and right then and there i called him a pirate-looking-somebody and fell in love on the spot. so i'm guessing johnny may have seen that same clip when he became enamoured.
