Peple used to tell me I should get a "real job" and I used to tell them that when Bob Dylan got a job with Victoria Secrets then I would get a real job.
Who would've known..????

My "real job" (thank you Bob), is pretty cool, but leaves me little time for the internet. I am the Nightwatch person for an Outward Bound type alternative school for troubled teens...(I fit in quite nicely there, hee hee) and what I actually do is walk around alone in the woods all night, checking kids, making sure they are, first of all THERE, and second of all, asleep. I kep an eye out for things out of the ordinary...and I have to check my handbook on that all the time because I really don't know the difference between "ordinary" and "not-ordinary"

I love this job, and was just telling Connie last night that I can't believe I get paid to walk around in the woods all night. It's wonderful. I still play gigs, but not as many because of this new work.
But I am learning all kinds of new stuff, like what's awake in the woods at 3am, the music of owls, the difference between the sound of falling branches and a kid sneaking out, the wonder of little critter eyes lighting up in my flashilght beam...you know, weird stuff like that.

Willow is still a mystery to me. She continues to be an honor student, a senior in high school as well as a student at the local community college AND works 2 jobs. Must be some far back recessive gene.

I turned 55 yesterday...which means that Nathan turned 55 4 days ago! I used to be right on top of that stuff...see what happens when you get a JOB???!! Happy Birthay, Nathen, you old fart!

Thanks for thinking of us during the storm. It was scarey, like most are, but we made it through, losing only a ceiling and my bed, which I hated anyway. I was a bit fond of the ceiling, and hope to replace it as soon as I get up the courage to attempt a try at sheet rock artistry.
I thought of all of you last weekend, wishing I was there at the Church with everybody, but knowing that we are always linked throught love. friendship, music and...Arlo!! I miss that guy.

Nathen...are you driving anywhere close to the Atlantic Ocean soon?
Do you know anything about sheet rock?

Happy Birthday darlin Kitty. Be careful out there in the woods. (I don't like walking on grass - in the daylight, so the woods sound terrifying to me - But I must say your ever colorful description makes it sound - almost - tempting.) Be well and happy. REG

Happy birthday to another 1950 baby! We missed you a lot! Good luck on the sheetrocking. I think the world is upside down, when a Blunderite is PAID MONEY to keep an eye on 'wayward teens.'

Happy Birthday, a little late, Miss Kittie! I knew yours was one day away from my Dad's birthday on Saturday, one way or the other, so I thought of you on both Friday and yesterday, and that means you should have eaten chonklit cake on both those days, too, and the one in between! Any left?

Happy Birthday Nathan, too!
