I would if it weren't 1,700 miles away. I'd say they ROCK, but I guess I should say they FOLK!

Interesting to note that Arlo and Abe, and Sarah Lee and Johnny are in MA, since they're off tonight and doing Newport tomorrow..........

I wish I were closer, but to have come up there for Cathy and Amy would have meant a lot of advance planning, and I only found out about it last night <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/frown.gif" width=15 height=15>

Hopefully they'll get to the Philly area someday soon...

Ceashel, I might be 200 miles closer, or then again maybe not! But I do wish I hadnt missed 'em in Okemah!!!! Big Bummer! But I do thank you for turnin me on to that cool cd! I gotta get a copy!

Wow... what a hoot!!!

Lots of other folkies taking the mic before we got to Folk Uke... I don't remember most of the names, unfortunately, but there was some great music! (one that I do remember, though, is Jim Durst, who did a Joni Mitchell tune, followed by one he wrote, inspired by Joni...awesome!!!

The height of the evening, of course, was the closing group... Folk Uke, joined by Annie Guthrie... they did several songs not on the album.... including a Kirtan-inspired song by Annie. And of course, the infamous "S**t makes the Flowers Grow"... "Knock Me Up"... "Motherf***er got f***ed up" "Fences" and closed with "In Case We Die"

Jackie was there to make up the complement of Guthries in attendance. The girls did comment that some of the G-Babes and Abe were not around... it would have been fun, but most important, was seeing Cathy, Amy and Annie having fun up there on stage.
(You should have seen Jim Durst cracking up, while listening to "S**T")

Sounds like a magical GC night! At WoodyFest, G-Babes (sans Abe) did the new song that Annie wrote; it's good.

...thanks so much for the report, Wyld...sounds like a great night...i love that folk uke CD.....thought i'd get tired of it...but ...nope...just gets better....!!.....
