James Doohan, who played Scotty on Star Trek, passed away at age 85.

I saw James Doohan at a speaking engagement that he gave at Central CT State University during the "Reagan Era (Error!)". Although he cause a wee bit of a stir with the mostly student audience when he expressed his support for Reagan's "Star Wars Defense" & the accompanying film, he was, nonetheless, well received and quite the gentleman. Although, he did reveal that William Shatner wore a rug (like nobody knew!)! After the program he graciously sat at a table in a hall of the auditorium to sign autographs for all of his fans. Like Gene Roddenberry, and as per his wishes, some of his ashes will be launched into orbit later this year. Bon voyage, Jimmy!
