My best friend and companion, Peabody, passed away last Tuesday. He was known in blunderchat as the "floating talking doggy head" (is that right?) thanks to Larry...

He was a great friend, and a rarity in a terrier (though not in Westies, as any Westie owner knows) - one that wanted only to please.

I still remember a line I read as a kid, from a dog breeds book put out by National Geographic, "Radiates charm when ignored." Peabody radiated charm all of the time. I am going to miss him so much.

Of course, the thought of staying dogless for many months is foreign to me... I think I might have a name picked all ready (though not the breed) - (Kennel name's) Made for You and Me; Call name: Guthrie.

I'm sorry, star. I remember you mentioning Peabody many times. Much sympathy to you. It's hard to lose a friend like that.

sad news star... if it makes you feel better, consider who's probably gonna have to walk peabody now!

Star, I'm so sorry for your loss. I became dogless 16-1/2 years ago, right after my mother died. She was a part-shepherd, part-lab and I've missed her so much. She was 14 when she died.

I hope you can become a friend to another dog really soon.

My sympathies, too, Star. I remember when Peabody used to post here---at times he was the only one who made any sense to me! I know how much Peabody meant to you. No other dog could really "replace" Peabody, but I wish you another 13 good years with another dog.

I'm sorry to hear that you've lost your dog star. We had to have our Dog Sam put down about 5 years ago and Javan still misses him, he'd give his right arm for another dog. hope you find another one soon.

I'm so sorry for you loss, Star. Our pets are such a part of our family, I know how much it hurts when we lose them. I liked Ceashel's idea and sent some messages to Tasha & Brownie to look out for Peabody and show him the ropes.

Star--So sorry to hear about Peabody. I know how hard it is to lose a much-loved pet. My dog has been gone for over 20 years, but I still find myself "being careful not to bump into his water dish in my parents' kitchen". I'll send Schroeder a message to keep on the lookout for Peabody.
