As many of you out there know, I am a breast cancer survivor, and today it's five years since I had my surgery! Yippee! Back when it was all first happening--and it seems so long ago now--I was not a regular on these boards, but I emailed Dave and other friends and told them what was going on with me. Well, Dave posted it! I never would have thought to check out these boards, but someone, I believe it was Pat, told me there was something going on here that I might want to see, so I checked in for a visit and was totally overwhelmed by all the vibes, good wishes, and love that were being aimed at me. That was when I first started checking out these boards on a regular basis. All the people here helped me so much--people I knew, people I didn't know but have since met, people I still have yet to meet. All friends, and all a big part of my healing. Although they say there is no cure for breast cancer, five years of cancer-free survival is a major milestone, and as far as I'm concerned, it's gone. I'm now planning to go way beyond five years--I want to go 50 and end up in the Guinness Book of World Records!

Thanks, everybody, for helping me get this far! These boards are the best, and so are all of you! I love you!

Judy, I am SO happy for you, for all of us, that you've made the 5-year survival! I can't wait to see you next year.

I sure hope they can find a cure a no one should have to go thru what grandma, you, Arlos wife Jackie & many others have...<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/peace.gif" width=16 height=16>

WONDERFUL NEWS! I was not aware that you were a breast cancer survivor--but I'm so glad that you are. It was wonderful meeting you last October. You've made my life richer (as has everyone else on these boards) simply by being. I look forward to seeing you again this year, and toasting your good health.

Sure, we'll be there, but what about the 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, and 45th? That's lots of anniversary cake. Our Baker to Blunderites had better get busy! We'll be there, 'specially if its' chonklit.

Congratulations! A great milestone!

Party! Party! I better start booking the Guthrie Center for February 17th 2009, 2014, 2019........I hope by my next big anniversary, the place will have been supported enough to have heat in the sanctuary. It can get cold in the Berkshires!
