Someone had called about tix for the Wayne gig at the YM-YWHA and they weren't selling them.

I was, by chance, at the Y last week, and stopped at the event managers office to ask what was going on. So just for general info, I'll let you guys know what I know.

First, nothing has been decided yet - except that I was guaranteed the date would remain the same!!!

But due to overwhelming interest in the gig, the YWHA may have to use the Wayne Valley High School Auditorium for the gig.

The person there, said they have a deal with the HS when something like this occurs. The HS is only 1/2 mile away and she said it is just as comfy.

They have suspended selling tix for a short time to figure things out.

That's everything I know. I will keep an eye out for any new info in the local newspapers. FYI the YMHA of North Jersey's main phone # is 973-595-5000.

The phone number posted for the YMHA below is wrong. I called it and got some lawyer. The correct number is 973-942-5000.

Sorry about the wrong phone #, I checked again, and that is the one one the back of their brochure. I would NEVER subject anyone to talking to a lawyer if it wasnt necessary. (And if lawyers are allowed to be Bluderites - Im going back in the closet).

Judy - just being nosey...did you call? What did they say?

I called, but haven't managed to get a live person in the Cultural Events department yet--probably because I called on my lunch hour and it must be their lunch hour, too. I got their voice mail, but didn't leave a message asking them to call me back, 'cos I figured they wouldn't make a long distance call to some crazy Blunderite in Connecticut.

Now, folks..please put some kind of qualifying adjective before "lawyer". I know what you mean and everything, but there are various kinds of lawyers. Really..there are..

OK Pat, in your honor, I will qualify...

Not all lawyers... But Blunderites would be better off not associating with any of the lawyers I have had to deal with, work for, or be related to...so far.

You're right...My P.C. was lacking and it's great that you can see a good side to anyone and everyone!

Believe me, most lawyers suck...The big bad nasty....Some of them are allright...I spent a ton a money, losing a case once...Two yrs. later I won, from a little guy, who took my case, 'Pro-Bono'...I never got to thank him, as by the time I got my award letter, he had moved to Boston...Allot of great people in my life, I've never got to thank. He's one of em...

I'm sorry..didn't mean to get anybody in an uproar here. I just occasionally feel the need to defend the profession because my sister is in it and earns less than an executive assistant (formerly known as secretary) at a large company and she's senior staff. There are lots of lawyers working at underfunded organizations doing poverty and civil rights law. Most of the lawyers I know personally come under that heading.

You are quite correct, Pat, I'm teasin' I have the utmost admiration, for lawyers, and those in Med profession, who choose to "do good works" instead of just grabbing for the $$$.and, there are many, I know...
that's cool, rb.. i visited Monmouth Park a couple times, it was nice.. and I'd love to see Jill Hennessy's Irish Pub, in Northvale N.J. too....
