hi everyone. Image

i missed you all horrificamente, as per usuelle, especially what with all thees creepy theengs the world seems bent on dishing out these days. (harrumph, and all that. a regular pain in the peduncle, some of it, if you ask me. which no one did, but IF someone were to ask, that's exactly what i'd be likely to say ...)

sorry to have missed sarah and johnny when they played fair woodstock, too. next time, hopefully.

anyway, just wanted to say, "hey!" and "missed you," and "have a spectacular october."

i've got a new (to me) computer! no more dinoputersauruses for me, thank you very much! an old college chum came through big time -- drove up with his wife and teenage daughter from n.j. and laid it on me today. said it was a "spare" -- which is sort of like saying 'extra cigarette,' to my way of thinking, which therefore makes it an even nicer thing that they did. hadn't seen him for 25 years, and he shows up with a computer for me. now that's class. and a kind heart, too. no more waiting 15 minutes for each web page to load. nunh-unh.

it's good to be back. see y'all real soon.

Thanks for your warm (as always) welcome. It's so good to be back.

What with the closeout this afternoon -- notices of banishment and all -- I was afraid I'd done something truly dreadful at the annual apple pressing party in Lake Hill, or something. And it's not like I particularly mind being banished(from some places, anyway) but I do like to at least have done something totally outrageous, that I've deliberately perpetrated, if I'm going to be exiled in disgrace and all. Like maybe leading "You ain't got the Do-Re-Mi" ever so slightly off-key ... or something equally unconscionable. Heh heh heh heh

Howdy! Thanks, welcoming committee!

By the way: my "new" computer is really an old computer. It's only new to me, but it's also better than the one I was using. My friends made a sacrifice in their own lives so I could have it. That makes it all the more special to me.

Sigh.

You'd think it wouldn't be necessary to go into all that, especially around Woodstock, but it is. Very. So there you have it.

Hey, it couldn't have happened to a nicer person, huh?(ALL modesty aside, and if I do say so myself...) Image

Hey, I was due for one. I'm really, really sure of it. I couldn't even use the old one for e-mail anymore, it was so outdated. It literally took 10 to 15 minutes to load each page on the Internet. (That's if I could coax it onto the Internet and/or into loading the freakin' page to begin with.)

It was a 486 way-off-brand, with all of 16 megs of RAM, less than a gig of HD space, running at 133mhz, with no software you could actually do anything with, no CD playing capabilities, and it never really worked right in the first place ...

May it R.I.P., poor thing.

But I'll be happy to take the opportunity, while here, to say once again ...

It's so good to be back, and to see everybody! You were all sorely missed. Image

Wow, your old puter sounds like my laptop. It's a 486 with 16 mgs ram & no cd rom LOL! Just to do my e-mail, Arlonets messgae baords, the other Arlo message boards & several other message boards when I was in Nags Head in June it took me 5 hrs. LOL! Now that's fun ROTFL! Enjoy your new puter! Image This Win 98 here flies in comparison...
