The other route, although civilized and correct, will not yield much in the near term... since if they're stiffing all the drivers right now, they probably have bankruptcy papers at the ready, if they even were a legitimate business to begin with... more likely, it was some guys with some leased trucks... grab the cash and run!
There's the lesson for you nate, next year, lease your own truck, consign your own trees, and collect cash on delivery! Then have a merry kerry!

Sounds right, Arnie, and if Nathan thought they were a legitimate business he'd have known there are avenues for collection, I'm sure. So, a different and more creative approach is necessary, I guess. Or else just forget the money, which is what Nathen seems prepared to do.

Nathen, I am truly sorry about what happened. I am sure you can do soo much better. I think the advice offered--excluding Larry's fighting tactics <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>--should help. I think the letter from a lawyer should startle them into submission. They had no right to do that to you, and I hope you can show them their mistake. Is there a bureau (sorta like better business) to which you can complain? Or how about a main office? Let your voice be heard! Goodness knows how many people these jerks screw each day.

by using modern math the company discovered that my last trip from Tn to Fla, then to NYC and ustate NY and back to NC was worth $4 and forty cents but because it's Christmas they were willing to pay five. hmmmmmmm let us see what can be done to correct this, but we shall wait until after Kerrymas to do it.
