Well, my sister's surgery was over several hours ago and everything went fine! Whew! The doctor said everything looked good, and we should have the biopsy results in a week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the cancer hadn't spread!

Well, much to my surprise, my Mom called me a little before 10 last night and told me that my sister was home! I don't know if it was Nancy's decision, the hospital's, or both, but she said it felt good to be there. She is exhausted, understandably, and will probably spend a lot of time sleeping in her living room recliner, because she is a side-sleeper who can't sleep on either side right now, and who, like me, has never been able to sleep on her back unless she falls asleep watching TV stretched out on a couch or a La-Z-Boy. She bought a new one before her surgery, knowing she'd need one. My niece flew in from Austin, TX yesterday, where she's been doing an internship at GE, and will be with her for a week. My sister has lots of friends who will be checking up on her and bringing her food, including a friend who's a nurse, who will stop in every day. So I think Nancy will be very well looked after!

Once again, thanks for all your prayers, vibes, and good wishes. I told Nancy they're coming at her from all over the planet. She really does appreciate them, and so do I!

Hey Susan, BIG Blundervibes!!!!!

So glad your sis is home (it's very true that "home is where the heart is"--makes it so much easier to heal). Many healing, comforting blundervibes being sent.

I just got off the phone with my sister, and she sounded down-right perky! She is doing her best to walk around the house and do her exercises. She isn't supposed to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk, and should not lift her elbows higher than her shoulders, but she had just put a load of wash in the washer. She said pain-wise, her two C-sections were worse than this surgery. My niece and two of my sister's friends were there as I spoke to her, and it sounded like there was a party going on. She thanked everybody yet again for all the prayers and blundervibes being aimed at her, and would actually love to try to meet at least some of you someday, most likely at an Arlonian event. She thinks you're all wonderful, and so do I!

It's nice to hear that your sister is feeling so well, vibes still heading your wat so that she may continue to improve.

Talked to Nancy a little while ago, and her doctor had called her with all her test results. There was no cancer in her lymph nodes, and no cancer in her muscle tissue!!!! They think they got it all!!!! Yippeee!!!!! One of my niece's friends was over when they got the news, and the three of them danced around the house, celebrating. This was after my sister had done a bunch of ironing this afternoon. Can you believe it?!!! It's less than a week after she had a double mastectomy, and she was ironing!!!! She must have inherited my Mom's ironing gene!!!

Nancy asked me once again to say thank you for all your prayers, good wishes, and Blundervibes. She knows how much good stuff was being aimed at her, and she knows that it worked, and is so very grateful. So THANK YOU!!!!

Judy, as far as ironing goes, I can't believe she has full use of her arms already! And for the ironing gene, I wish I had inherited that one, instead of the short gene, the allergy gene, etc.

I'm so glad she's doing so well. If she runs out of stuff to iron, send me her address and I'll UPS stuff right out to her.

Actually, I can see how ironing can be therapeutic! I actually used to do it.
