Excuuuuuusse me! but if you are counting days until October 13th, (or any other 13th of the Month) then you quite clearly are counting days until FRIDAY the 13th, which just HAPPENS to come out on a Saturday this month!

Sheesh! talk about idiots!!!!! stoopid guy can't even understand the concept of Friday the 13th being misplaced!!! duh!

we have met the enemy, and he is us! pogo.

and besides, how could i ever forget that day,,,i remember it well. it was a saturday, and we had just gotten out of school for the day..somebody had a little transistor radio.
remember them?

anyway, after the homerun,,we ran thru all our neighborhoods,,,screaming, "The Pirates
Won!!!"

we got in trouble for not coming straight home...probably because the next day was
saturday,,and that being a school day and all?

Joe, wake up and smell the coffee buster! Arnie is a member....no......Arnie is the LEADER of a friday the 13th cult, and he knows his stuff! He can tell what days that friday the 13th falls on every month even when they don't fall on a friday. It's kinda like an Arlo's socks-Cheryl thing.
Anything at all that falls on he 13th falls under Arnie's juristiction, so stop being a pain in the ass and accept it...ok??
We gotta tell all these new people everything...huh?!?!?!/ Image

I've devoted an entire lifetime to being a pain in the ass. I am pleased to finally receive the proper recognition for it from somebody other than one of my old teachers. Does this mean I'm doing tomorrow's countdown?

Enjoyed Todd's memory. We grew up when the World Series was important to kids. I went to a Catholic school where we had to wear ties. When there was a Series game, coincidentally all of the boys wore sports jackets. We'd put a transistor radio in the chest pocket, run the wire thru the sleeve, & hold the earphone in our hand, holding our head in our hand.

If we got busted, there was always a transistor stashed in the boys room. Somebody got up to go to the boys room every 10 minutes or so to check the score & would pass notes to the others.

Thaks, Todd, that was a cool recollection.

I am reminded of an incident long, long ago, when the Series had the occasional day game during the week, and of course if you were halfway cool you hid a little radio somewhere and listened on the little white earphone-button-thingie.

So the teacher is droning about something boring, and suddenly someone shifts restlessly in their typically uncomfortable school desk, and the wire from the radio to the little white earphone-button-thingie pulls out, and all that is heard is,

<center><FONT size="4">"SWIIIING, and a MISS!!!!!!!!"</FONT s></center>

before someone grabs the little knob and turns it down.

Teacher had to crack up along with everyone else. Hell, he probably had a radio in his pocket too.

I still have some of my old AM transistor radios. Image I went to Jerry Falwwells Baptist college (& I'm not even Baptist LOL!) for 2 1/2 yrs. They wouldn't let the kids listen to rock & roll & that was back when rock & roll was good music LOL! I used to sneak & listen to rock & roll on my transistor radio with an earphone. I remember listening to Wolfman Jack late at nite out of NYC. Maybe the Baptists didn't like good music but we Presbyterians did. Image

Hmmmmmmmmmmm....Larry still hasn't been here? Some people just don't appreciate it when an honor has been conferred on 'em. I guess if you want something done around here you gotta do it yourself, so here goes:

3 MORE DAYS REMAINING!

The trouble with this damn place is that a guy just can't get any service! These boards were nothing until I arrived here, but I just might have to take my business somewhere else! I hear Dylan has some cool message boards.......
