Please tell Nancy we're sending those Blundervibes. It doesn't surprise me that your sister would make the more courageous, more difficult decision. Any sister of yours has to have the strength and intelligence genes. (A simplified view, but you know what I mean.)

Probably a very wise decision for her case, Judy. It won't be easy, but as I might have told you, our neighbor recently opted to do that without yet having cancer. A double mastectomy, yet. She had some precancerous indications and about the worst family history for breast cancer that I've ever heard. She got it done about a year ago, has done the reconstruction and has no second thoughts about her decision.

I just got off the phone with Nancy.  She said she had a long talk with her doctor today.  She is all set for her mastectomy on Tuesday, thank God.  In fact, if the insurance company will allow it, she is going to have a double mastectomy, for prophylactic reasons, because having the kind of cancer she does, she is more inclined to get it on both sides and it is so hard to detect.  She is very glad to have this all worked out, and anxious to get it over with.  Hopefully the insurance company will go along with the plan.  She feels, like I did, that maybe the doctor was being conservative in her previous approach towards Nancy's cancer, because of the medical climate these days.

So that's the latest. Love those vibes! Keep 'em coming, and thanks!

Tuesday is going to be a busy day for Blundervibes. It's a good thing that there are always more when you need 'em. Not to deflect one single vibe from Nancy, but if anyone has a spare here or there, my sister Susan told us last night that she has to have a breast biopsy on Tuesday. Some may remember her from Carnegie last year. She would appreciate a good thought sent her way.

Just talked to my sister a little while ago, and the insurance company is going along with her wishes (!!!), so she is all set for a double mastectomy tomorrow morning. She is in good spirits and had a group of friends over tonight. They provided her with all the essentials for her hospital stay, like Sponge Bob bandaids and lots of good chocolate. So all systems are go!

Thanks again, everybody, for all your good thoughts, prayers, and Blundervibes!
