Snowing here now, schools closing all around us, weird, every county but us and we normaly close first. Our roads are narror twisting and never salted or plowed and every inch is either up or down, there is no level land around here, so it is best to stay home.

Itsnowed an inch Tues nite. Later today & tomorrow we are supposed to get snow. Estimates are anywhere from 3-8 inches but they really don't know how much or bad it'll be. So my folks invited us to spend a coupla days with them. If the electricity goes off at least they have a gas fireplace...

COOOLLLLDDDDDD!!! But snow is staying to the south of us and it's even colder to the east of us, so I won't whine too long.

We're supposed to get snow- 4-8 inches! Yikes & It's cold here too...

snowing here but me dog and I went walking and odd but we were the only ones, whatever happened to going for walks in the snow?

We're at my folks house waiting out the snow storm. My folks are a real trip. They had a channel from NYC on their satellite dish & the weather came on there with a forcast for snow. My dad thought it was our loca weather & my mom kept trying to tell him it was for NYC. Mike & I had on the kitchen tv seeing the local weather & I caould see my folks disagree about whether the NYC weather was local or not. We're getting the snow storm too. So I told my dad, don't worry about it the NYC weather forrcast is the same as ours. ROTFL! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/laugh.gif" width=15 height=15>

ok, here's a native SoCal perspective, on weather...weather, is a place you drive to... ya want snow....? State Hiway 2, Angeles Crest Hiway is the ticket, or Big Bear....ya want dry, low0humidity heaty...? Palm Springs, or Victorville, High desert...Ya want damp oceanic climate,,,? no problem...! Malibu, on the north, South Beach, in the middle & Dana Point-Laguna, to the south...weather, is just another freeway choice. weather doesn't happen, at one's home,..snow...? on one's front porch....please...! how crude.....! one DRIVES, to weather... like any other theme Park, in SOCal...see...? no wonder Southern Cal natives, have a different perspective, on things...

We just have a dusting this morning, but more is predicted for today. I have to drive to Columbus (200miles) on Sunday, so I hope all the snow is done by then.

yes... northeasterners have mutated and adapted to be able to function in ALL 4 Seasons... We manage to get all the significant weather events, except perhaps Tsunami waves, but considering how half of long island and the jersey coastline erodes away in a spring shower, how much worse could a Tsunami actually be for us??
Anyway, bumpy reminds me of the short time i lived in SoCal, around christmas 1976. It DRIZZLED for cryin' out loud... not rain, DRIZZLE... I lived near the Hollywood (un)Freeway, and you could see them just sitting there in disblief and wonderment... "what should I do?" was on the drivers concerned faces... Later that winter I went up the San Francisco, and they happened to get a mild DUSTING (less than an inch) of snow, which is not unknown but uncommon there. The city basically shutdown for the day. SNOW!!!!???!!!! No ability to adapt, these Californians... they just go into (drug induced?) shock, and awaken when the sun shines again... Ra must be a popular guy there...

First time I brought my husband to Michigan (he's a Texan), I told him how fun it was to watch the ice-cutters come up the river. Him: "What??? Fast running water can't freeze!!" Me: "Oh yes it can ... when it's cold enough, long enough, anything can freeze." The look on his face when he saw the frozen river was priceless.
