Just checked in after a long while to read your sad, sad news. I am so sorry for your loss. Your evident generous spirit, goodness and love must have made Mike very happy. He is with you still, you just have to look for him in a different way now. Take care.

Cheryl, I just checked into arlonet and found this topic. I am so sorry to read of Mike's passing. Such a shock, but, as Arlo and others have said, when God calls, you go. But they are never far away, we just can't see them anymore with our eyes of clay.

Mike was your angel on earth and he still is in heaven. Gather strength from your faith and from those of us who love you. It's hard now, and the pain will never go away, but it will become easier to bear. The sun will come up.

(((Cheryl)))

Thanks so much for everyones condolences. The service & all for Mike was really nice. He was the best made up & most natural looking I have ever seen for a person that went on. So much has happened since then. Will have to write more another day. I am so dead tired. I am so busy during the day that I don't get to go online until late at nite. And no time for tv which sucks, I need to have a life & yet I just lost mine a week ago. My dad got sick & had to miss the service. Yesterday he was put in the hospital. They think a recent tooth being pulled upped his temperatures & messed with his heart trouble. So they listed it as congestive heart failure. I am dealing with so much pain here. And now my dad in the hospital. I am dying to relax & can't. My folks get up early every morning & then I have to be busy which means I am brain dead now.

Mike keeps sending me messages from heave. Like messing up Verizon wireless with morse code singals & only a preacher being able to get thru right. And when I tlaked to my cousin on Verizon Wireless, I heard him say something he clearly did not say

Before he went Mike wanted to get some records of Dennis Yost & the Classics IV. We got one with Spooky on it when we went to Hampton to see Arlo & went to a used record store. Well it has the line in it about proposing on Halloween. Mike was a blind date a friend set me up on. On our first date he insisted on taking me and my friend & her ex hubby to a cemetery to view a woman who was buried in oil. We always said that reminded me and us of the song Spooky. Well the song Spooky came on oldies 107.3 played by Mikes favorite dj. We had never had the time to play the record yet before he went on. I guess he was trying to remind me of all that.

Watch this video here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr6H1a7YUac#

I watched it while transferring pics of Mike taken at the funeral etc on my moms camera to my camera. I stopped it right after the line that goes "I'm a lucky feller & I just gotta tell her that I love her endlessly so I could finish up the pics & go to bed. When I paused the video at that spot in it all of the pics immediately renamed themselves to the name of the group singing the song which is Edison Lighthouse. The only pics it did that too were ones taken from the day he died until Sun. And any pics taken of people wearing ellbottoms pants or 1970's clothes. And I sure did not rename the pics either. When I put the camera card in my camera it renamed a pic of my dad wearing a 70's suit from this Christmas when 2008 when Mike & I went with my folks to Shoneys, it renamed the pic Ed Edison Lighthouse & with numbers behind it. I am attaching several pics of this for you to see the proof that Mike did it. Too wild to be true.

Mike changed the music in Kmart to Elvis. Once in K-Mart I had joked with him that he would change the music to Elvis on the pa system there after he did. I had to go in K-mart to call my mom at the hospital on her cell phone to find out about my dad. Ever since I lost my cell phone & Mike went my moms cell phone has been picking up morse code & breaking up. Only person who could talk totally clearly on there was the preacher from our church. In K-mart they were playing weird current music. When I finished talking to mom I started to leave. When I went by the speakers on the way out, the music immediately changed to an Elvis song. When it ended it immediately changed back to whatever new junk they had been playing. Then I left
All of this is true & no joke. Mike is contacting me from heaven. Amen...

Cheryl, it's so cool that Mike's communicating with you! I would have thought it might be too soon, being busy up there getting acclimated and all. My dad "visits" every now and then, leaving me a dime and a penny. It's never one or the other, it's always both. And in some strange places where there were none just a moment before.

Alive is all. I am here with my folks & it looks like I'll be living with them but trying to rent out my house so I'll get a bit of an income since I was a homemaker. This way I don't have to be alone & I can take care of my folks . My mom will be 80 next yr & my dad is in his late 80's. So they need me. I miss Mike so much. I am busy trying to movee my person stuff like clothes, jewelry, records, cd's record players etc. and memorablia, stuff on stars etc. over here. Furniture will be left in the house or either put in an outside storage building. My folks don't have the wall space for me to put up my posters and wouldn't want them up there anyway. So memorabilia will have to go up in their attic. Oh well. So I am now having to rush to get this done and get stuff moved here so that my folks can go on & start getting the house renovated so we cant rent it out. Renting it out means I don't have to sell & give up my home. I could go back anytime I wanted to but for now I don't want to be alone. That's the latest news for now...

Dear Cheryl H. I don't usually give advice in these type situations. But, with that said, it seems to me, that your doing the right thing. Everyone needs an income. Renting your home, will provide that extra funds you need, to get along. NTM" as wierd as this might sound, things happen for a reason. Think of Mike, as up in heaven. I know your into Jesus. Well Jesus has him for sure now. That's a fact, you'll be learning to deal with. I would speculate Mike would want you to stay busy. NTM" taking care of your elderly folks, is the right thing to do. No one loves you like your Mother. Now that Mikes gone to his reward. Take care of your Mom and Dad. It's the right thing to do. And NOT selling your house, in my opinion is the right thing to do. Just screen your people good, and don't rent to anyone, that wouldn't take care of your home, the way you would want...

I think your using good common sence here. Selling your house, would be like, pretending you never had a life there... And the large money , is easy to go thru, and in the short term, sooner of later nothing is left. But by renting it, you can keep up with taxes, and afford lifes little luxerys. Another words, renting is a steady income...

Example. the way I think. I'd rather have a small amt. of money every mnth, than a large windfall, which I might squander... BUT That's just me.... I think your doing the right thing....

I always respected you, as you were into Jesus, and were a believer.. Your a strong willed women, from what I've seen over the yrs... Stay strong, and do what's in your heart. I lost my Mom at 79...... I miss her dearly. Your lucky you have your Mother to help you thru this!

Heres a video, I thought you might enjoy...

Your also so lucky, to have Arlo as a friend. He's a very wise man!

Sincerely yours/RB

Cheryl: I didn't see this until just now. Sweet darling, all my prayers for you and here for you. Without my Dana, I don't think I would make it, so it is terrible to realize you've been helping me while you are in such pain. Here is a poem I wrote a for whatever comfort it might provide.

Quote:
The Wounded Bride (from The Book of Hosea)

At morning light
A trumpet blows
Answering the heavens
Dark and thundering skies
Are giving birth
He has torn you
That he may heal you
Strikes you down
That he may bind you
Comes to you in rain
To water Earth

Oh how he loves you
Oh how he loves you
Faithfulness and love abide
Hold to his goodness
Grace and forgiveness
This is the promise made
To the wounded bride

Dew rises from the flowers
First fruit of the tree
Like a bird
Our glory flies away
The door of hope is open wide
In a wilderness of pride
Crying to the mountains
Cover me

Oh how he loves you
Oh how he loves you
Faithfulness and love abide
Hold to his goodness
Grace and forgiveness
This is the promise made
To the wounded bride

Thanks for the support & prayers & vibes etc everyone. That was such a beautiful poem. That Monkees video brings back alot of good memories. I was gonna marry all 4 of them at one time.

There were so many things I wanted to do with Mike this yr. The monthly bluegrass jam on the Fri after he went plus going to it every month, his cousins hubbys bd get together at Shoneys, going to the taco dinner at church with them showing the new Fireproof movie, the church missions conference meetings several nites this week and Sunday church dinner, seeing Arlo in Hampton in May, a few days later going to stay with my folks in Nags Head, going to visit his sisters family this summer, the reunion in KY etc. Now he's gone I had to miss the Bluegrass jam & the players sent me sympathy card, I went to Sunday church & the dinner but didn't get to go to the night meetings, I'll go his cousins hubbys bd get together and the church taco dinner and Fireproof movie without him (taco dinner & Fireproof movie had been canceled then late changed cuz it was supposed to be on the day of his service), I'll have to go to the bluegrass jams with a friend instead, I'll go to Nags Head with my folks, no going to the reunion unless his cousin & her hubby go which may not be likely since his health is kinda bad off, and who I'll get to go see Arlo with I dunno. Life will never be the same without him. He was the only man I ever dated more than once & the only love of my life. I know I'll never love or marry again. I had my special one who understood me & for 26 yrs he was mine. 26 yrs is such a short time. But I know he is up there looking down on me....

(((Cheryl))) Life is moving on, as it has to. I am glad that you are making plans for the future. I agree with everyone else that renting your house is a really good idea, esp. if you can screen the tenants. I will pray for you to get respectful tenants who will take care of your house.

hang in there and know that God is with you, in everyone you meet, you will see His face.

Thanks. We appreciate the vibes etc. The contractors want to start on fixing the house up right away starting Mon & I have Mon- Thurs but esp Mon & Tues to get what I want for myself outta the house and get what I want to give to folks & what I want to sell outta there as well. So sorry I have to rush like this but the contractors have to do it while they are free & they can't have anything in the house while they are working on it. So sad but 23 yrs my life is going bye bye quickly.

Maybe it would be helpful to not focus entirely on the bye-byes, but to say hello to the new life which awaits you. The future represents new challenges and opportunities for wonder and happiness.......I know that everyone here wishes and prays for your happiness, and I know Mike does too. Peace and Love, Kevin

I would think that one of the best ways for Mike to be happy where he is, is for you Cheryl to be happy where you are. That's what I would want for my wife if I were to go first.

Cheryl, I just now saw this thread; blundervibes from Florida to Pixley. Heaven gained what you lost, and God knew you could handle this as a strong woman.
