Hey Everyone,
I was just reading all of the Friday the 13th postings, I happen to have a mate that had an operation last week on that very day. Everything went well, go figure? Although over the last 10 years she has had 5 hip replacements, 3 shoulder operations, 2 knee replacements, she has also had 3 broken wrist, 1 broken elbow, upteen broken fingers and toes and ribs and 2 broken ankles and 1 broken nose. None of these things happened on Friday the 13th apart from the surgery last Fri.
So here's hoping that will now be her lucky day. I have decided she must be wrapped in Bubble wrap everytime we go out anywhere.

I just had to post something to get my number of posts off 1313, and here seemed like the the best place. Sorry Arnie, I'll be in the 14's before the next Friday the 13th! :D

Thinking about this poor mate of yours, galwaygirl, and hoping that she will be better. That is unfortunately a record of its own :(

Thanks Cheryl and Brigette.
Your thoughts, vibes and prayers are most welcome. We have been mates for more than 35 years. I took some food over to her on Thurs because I really couldn't see how she could manage cooking for her husband or the 3 borders she has in her home. When I told her that you were sending prayers and thoughts she couldn't believe total strangers to her could be so thoughtful and kind. I just smiled and gave her a gentle hug and told her that is what blunderites do for one another . Thanks again you are all stars to me.

Brigitte and Cheryl,

Thanks for thinking of Debbie.
Debbie is doing well, I take her to get her staples out tomorrow after I drop Peter off at the airport.
She is only 55 yrs old and has severe osteoporosis and snaps like a matchstick when she falls. She falls often.
It's very kind of you to ask about her, I know she appreciates it and so do I.
I will let you know what happens tomorrow.

She is too young to have all that happening to her. More prayers and healing vibes sent her way...

I am also thinking about her. Aren't there any medications against osteoporosis that can help her?

Hey everyone

As far as I know she has taken several things like fossimax or whatever it is called but I think she is to far gone to be able repair any damage that has been done.
Also for the last 15 years or so she has become a "functioning alcoholic" so it is very difficult for the doctor's to perscribe medication plus it is the drink that causes her to fall so much. I have tried to convince her to go and get help at an addiction centre but she feels she doesn't need any help. It can be frustrating but at the end of the day I don't want to lose her or push her away. I have given her ultamatums although when she calls I can't turn her away. She has seen me through some of the most difficult times and I do the same.
I will pass all the prayers and vibes her way and thanks again.
