I should be happy, very happy. Arlo has added 3 days worth of shows to his schedule for next Feb. 2 days in a row for Hampton and then a day at Charlottesville after that. But I am so down cuz now my hubby Mike my concert buddy is gone to heaven & here I am without him to go to the shows & wondering how am I gonna get there. I always drove Mike & I to the shows. I wouldn't be too keen on driving that far alone. I can't get my best friend to go with me cuz it's on a Thurs, Ffi & Sat & she couldn't get off work to go with me Thurs, and Fri. Maybe I should've had the heart attack instead of Mike. I know it's a yr from now. But he should be here and me all excited telling him about it. Big sigh...

You've got some time to work on finding a buddy to go with you. Cheryl! Things will work out!

When I was younger, I felt funny driving more than 20 miles from home...then we moved across the country to CA, and I didn't have any safety net of family out there...I had to learn to depend on me, and some of the activities I was interested in were 40-plus miles away. I got used to that. Some things got a little farther away...I got used to that. It got to the point where I didn't worry about driving 600 miles with the kids, or by myself.

Thanks for the info and the support. It's just frustrating that I lost my concert buddy, hubby and friend. I was wondering would it be possible for me to hitch a ride with ya to the Hampton show since you're going? I could help with gas. I'd have to come on back home that nite tho cuz the next day cuz I'm going with my folks the next day to Nags Head for 2 weeks. YOu could stay with me & not have to pay for a motel. I was gonna go with Mike the Thurs after the show to Nags Head & stay a week. But now that he's in heaven, plans have changed & I go with my folks for the full 2 weeks. It won't be the same without him. Oh well...

All the threads folks were posting videos on were closed down so I'll post them here.

I didn't know the Who did this song:

I found out on YouTube that Rod Stewart was not the first one to do this song and it was also written by Cat Stevens. The things you learn on here. This girl evidently had a hit of it in the 60's in Britain:

Wanted to let you know that my dad Ed was put in the Petersburg hospital yesterday evening. In church yesterday he started shaking like he was freezing and my mom & I thought it was the ac making him cold. He did not want to eat out so we got takeout from Shoneys. My mom decided to take his temp and it was 100 something, So we both took him to the hospital. It turns out he has slight pneumonia just over the borderline for it, a kidney infection, and an infection, and his sugars from his diabetes were 250. They will have to keep him for a few days to regulate him. Evidently things were caught in time. He got his temps down and seems to be hanging in there okay so far. Hopefully he'll be home in a few days. Saw and talked to him today and he is in good spirits and thinks he'll be home in a coupla days. Wanted to let folks know...

The prayers and vibes have helped. Daddy came home Tues afternoon. When my mom and I went to see him, they said he could go home. They said he was doing pretty good. He didn't complain or ask for anything. They were surprised he was 89 and that he had lived so long with what he has. He has to take an anitbiotic pill and an inhaler (does inhaler once a day for awhile) and eat diabetic. But fortunately he was caught in time and now is home. He is the cat with 9 lives...

Boy am I losing my mind. But in this case it turned out for the best. I could've swore SLG and Johnny's concert was last nite when the churches valentines banquet was going on. Well something told me to look at their site again. Good thing I did cuz the show is on March 12 not Feb 12! So I can go after all! Whee! And Arlo's 2 shows in Hampton are earlier on that week Tues and Wed. So it will be a Guthrie week after all. If my friend Debbie can't go with me. Guess I'll go alone. Coffee sounds good. :) Along with some folk music. :) So if the Valentine Banquet hadn't been going on at the church, I would've gone to the coffeehouse only to find out no show. LOL. Old age. LOL...

Thanks! I must be losing my mind getting dates mixed up like that. I asked my friend Dbbie to go with me and if she's off work then she may go with me. If she can't go then I'll go alone I guess since it's a local gig...
