hmmmm you,re at a balmy 17 degrees +8 with windchill...not as cold as here,but....
a couple more days like this and they could drive a train out on the ice.

That's what I'm hoping Spark!! I didn't want to be the first one out today. The ice is plenty safe, but people are treating it with a newfound respect. Last yr. was the yr. of fatality's. (of course we never did get safe ice, not to be taken lightly with the other 'not so safe ice'.)

Waiting for snow (didn't have any the month of Dec. with is very rare for North NY) and not getting it till into the second wk of Jan. It's like this is the first Winter ever. Hard to put into words.

rb, It snowed steadily for six hours--lots of big, soft flakes. Piled up a little on cars and chairs and tables, but melted on the ground. It was beautiful, even so! We do get one or two snows a year here, and it used to stay a day or two, but that's rare, now. (Can you say 'global warming', dubya?) Anyway, it was special!

Just found out that here in Albany, we have had more snow this winter than Buffalo...
and it's only the middle of January!

We've had 61"... about twice what is normal for us at this date.

Oh well... I'll keep the snow shovel handy... until about June, I think LOL
