hello again! well..i may not be able to count this as a 'birthday' celebration, but ken and i are planning on taking mom to nova scotia with us (and the 17 year old, diabetic cat) for a 2 week vacation after her radiation treatments are done. she has 8 more to go and then hopefully this is all behind us!

she is doing just fine. a little tired but that is to be expected just from the m.s. never mind the radiation....so no complaints really.

i have started to taper down the dose of prednisone so although it's still not fun, it's starting to head in the right direction! so far my stomach hasn't revolted so all is well there too.

ken has worked enough overtime to take an extra month off from work so after our 2 weeks in nova scotia, we'll head to our friends' wedding (at the church) and then have a day at home to do laundry and pack again for 4 days on the cape...and then it's the church gig weekend....

monday morning bright and early we hit the road and head back to lake charles. unless something goes radically wrong, i will be heading back south with ken for the first time in many months. 4 weeks later we will be back in ma for ken's 'regularly scheduled' vacation and thanksgiving/carnegie.

by the way...the mets lost all three games in atlanta the weekend of my birthday but i sure had a great time being there anyway! it was a wonderful birthday weekend and i took the scenic route home on the blue ridge parkway...it was beautiful and i had a great time!

i guess i will do my part in eating lobsters until someone gives me a reason not to..first in nh and maine and now on to nova scotia...it's been a good lobster year for me!

but remember, in nova scotia, it's all about the lox!
(and try and visit cape breton - i still can remember it some 30 years later!?!?)
