Sherry, it sounds like Doris is living her time in style. Retirement parties can be a drag. Tell her Rb said so...<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/cool.gif" width=15 height=15>

I hope she felt 1/2 as independant, as I do, when I don't show up for some deal. Sapposed to be important. But in my fashion of thinking, is if anything were that important, it would come to me. Not me to it.

Hurrah Doris. I can relate to your stubbornis.<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/tiedye.gif" width=17 height=17>

***linear note: I had to out-doo Sherry's spelling. Keep on, keepin on, Doris.

Sincerely/RB

I sort of miss family reunions. Maybe they forgot where I live?.....<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/confused.gif" width=15 height=22>

Priority's. You send in the money they send you a ticket. It comes to you. If it's that important I go. If not, I stay home. It's about as simple as that.(watching 'the osbournes is my newfound pass-time)

I wonder what Doris would say? Does she like the Osbournes. My Mom thinks Ozzy mad? I tried to explain he's just sad..<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/frown.gif" width=15 height=15>

howdy...the news here isnt 'good' but we knew it was coming.

doris deteriorated steadily while ken and i were out of town. she got weaker and weaker the first few days and by the weekend wasnt getting out of bed or being awake for more than a few hours at a time.

on saturday she was still carrying on conversations but her speech was beginning to slur.

sunday she was able to respond to questions but wasnt really 'conversational'.

by yesterday when we returned she was 'sleeping' almost constantly but still 'waking up' to take a drink of water every hour or so when someone would give it to her. she did ask 'where did my water go' when richard went to fill the glass...so she isnt completely 'out of it' yet...and she still isnt in any pain....so for that we are grateful.

the hospice nurse is at the house now and they are giving her a morphine patch just to make sure she stays comfortable. she isnt eating and although she is taking some water, there doesnt seem to be much output. they are putting in a catheter today, as well.

ken is over there already and i am on my way. had a few things to take care of here that accumulated while we were gone. (one of which is spike the wing nut dog (yorkshire terrier) that had been my mom in law's who apparently ripped his dew claw off...bled all over my carpet and cost us 100 bucks to get fixed up!)

i just want to say thanks again..to all of you...for the love and support and caring....

more when there is something to say....

Sherry you know are hearts are with you. Altho not always fully intact (as I'm hoping you can relate)?

Well you know us well enough to know our minds aren't always intact, so maybe the rest goes un-said????

thoughts and prayers go out
Sincerely/Rb

I wish I had words to give you comfort, I wish we had a patch that eased the pain of parting, we don't yet, so the best I can offer are my prayers and love, those you do have.

howdy everyone....

doris passed away peacefully this morning around 10:15 am... ken was with her and she never suffered any pain....so our prayers were answered.

we want to thank everyone for the love and support and energy and caring ....but words just dont do that justice....so we hope you all know how we feel.

you guys are the best!
love,
sherry and ken and family
