I can divine all sorts of things by reading Swiss cheese holes, no matter where the Swiss cheese is made. Even the Swiss cheese from Switzerland. It's a rare gift I know. But, I warn you that I read Swiss cheese holes with about the same accuracy that George W. Bush reads intellegence reports.

I do hope you do get there some time. I know who Cindy will be feeling, She'll be having a blast <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15> You get to go and visit places all the time and see and learn some pretty cool stuff, but when you go to the Church, you don't just visit, your like there, apart of that moment. No matta if your just going for the show or helpping out all day or just passing through. It's a little hard to explain, but when you get to go you'll know what I mean.

It'll be about 4:00-4:30, they'll be finishing off the tailgate and starting to get things ready for tonight, cleaning and bakeing cookies and things for the menu.

I will go again one year. We have one of those old 8 pints wisky bottles we fill up with change. Not next year but the year after we've promised to take Javan camping round France for the Summer when we empty the bottle. So the year after that I'm hopeing we can save to come over.

So I might see you in 07?

Thanks! We will be leaving Christiansburg, VA for home soon. Yesterday I saw a Bush/Cheny sign hanging from a coal tipil in WV (A coal chute coal does thru at the coal mines). I later saw another sign in WV & this one reminded me of ya'll. It said" It will soon be time to cut down the Bush"... LOL!

Just got home from the Church. What a weekend! More, I'm sure, will be said later, but right now sleep would be a good thing. Nite, all!

Sparky, lots of pix were taken, I assure you. If everyone's like us, though, we've got to get laundry done & go back to (ugh) work. Our pix and such are still in the suitcase, nestled in their little computer chip thingys, but we'll start freeing them as soon as we can. Those who took more "pure" (film) pix will have to get them developed. One note of moment--this year, all three nights' programs were markedly--astoundingly--different from one another. Arlo may joke about not knowing songs, but how he keeps them all in his head is beyond me, since he doesn't use teleprompters as SOME performers do.

Shelley, you're so right about that... each night was totally different and I'm amazed at all the songs Arlo can just pull out of thin air like that. And that Abe and Gordon can pick up on it immediately, since they don't know any sooner than we do what Arlo's gonna decide to play (or forget to play after talkin' about playin' it).

Abe told me that he just watches Arlo's fingers and has most of the opening chords/notes figured out so he can pick it up quickly.

One weird thing I noticed lately is that I can tell what song he's going to do while he's tuning! Has anyone else noticed that? Any idea why? I don't know music, don't know one sound from another, can't tell what direction a train whistle or ambulance siren is coming from, but when Arlo tunes a guitar, I can tell what song he's gonna do. Is this really as weird as I'm thinking?

Terrie, I've been able to tell for years what songs Arlo is gonna play by the way he tunes his guitar and what he doodles on it while he's tuning it--at least if they're songs I've heard him do before. I can tell what other musicians I've seen a lot are gonna play when they tune, too. It's not a weird thing. It's basically a matter of knowing your subject.
