TRU DAT!!

Thank you everybody. I had a wonderful birthday weekend. Friday was the Gallery opening which was unbelievably great.

Sunday -For those who know the names...Skinny Pati (my uber boss), her husband, some other wonderful friends and Paul & Isis endured a party thrown by JohnC which was perfect to my specs. I had a FANTASTIC time at Medievel Times, doing what I like to do on my birthday: Getting swept away into the fun, pretending nothing is real - surrounded by kids and animals (at least this year the animals were real - sorry Simba). John got great pix of the horses (and us)...I have them posted on MySpace & Facebook.

Then we went to a place called Harold's Deli, which isnt a deli at all...but served desserts that were unbelievable. We had a lot of laughs...and I had a three year old lay her head on my shoulder for a little while. HEAVEN.

Tuesday, we went into the city (I walked 11 city blocks with no cane - woo woo) & had dinner at a cute/wonderful Irish pub and saw Wicked with Mike & Sharon. My two NYC theater critics/ JohnC and Mike loved the show - but commented that there were too few Monkeys (they liked the monkeys) and the munchkins were too tall. Also, Mike - was angry at himself for thinking the W.W.of the West was a bad person all these years!! (when she was obviously just misunderstood I guess).

Weds (My actual bday) I allowed myself to be snowed in, didnt fight with the roads or the snow...it was great. Thurs Pati et al had pyschadelic flowers, presents, cards and a home made cake waiting for me at work.

I miss you all, and I wish that we all be together on my birthday like we are near Johns and Jays and Deb's, but all in all I had a terrific time.

I hope you know Love you all...and Im so grateful for you all.

But a special note to Shelley. This year I terrorized and worried her for most of the year. I was convinced I'd never see this birthday - and I chose to share that little lovely fact with her. She got me thru everyday... sometimes with love and sometimes with a kick in the butt...sometimes a thoughtfully complicated combo of both. She once even threatened me that I HAD to live long enough to see Obama sworn in! - (& he hadn't been elected yet) She prefers me sane, but loves me crazy. Life was not perfect in her world at the same time as I was leaning heavily on her beautiful shoulders. But here I am...it is Ground hogs day...and I made it. Healthier and happier than I have been in my adult life. I owe you my love...but I'll never be able to thank you enough.

Peace y'all

That's a lot of celebration crammed into a short time--but you were overdue for that. And I see more in your not-too-distant future. You party girl!

Good Point/  No lie =

Because of bush - While I was sick - I also had to deal with:

John not having a contract or a raise for 8 years/
bush actively trying to dismantle Amtrak because trains don't support his oil buddies.
My son or his GF not having health insurance. (but tuition rising)
Mrs.T's nursing home stuff getting cut backs.
My friends loosing their jobs -
My volunteer stuff (I could divert myself from the pain with)getting dwindling support.
Having to be embarrassed because people worldwide THOUGHT he represented Americans...
The depression every time the teen (soldier) body count went up
...Of course all the generally accepted stuff that we all endured...
AND listening to that jerky stupid voice.

He sure didn't help.
