Ya know - it's just about that way!! Wednesday night she was moved to a regular cardiac room from the Telemetry ICU. Which is a huge improvement. (room is nicer too - more restful). Thursday when I got there, was sitting up in a chair, eating by herself. (She hadnt had arm movement mobile enough for that for a while). Her color is better and she is almost as fiesty as her old self. (The nurse asked her what she wanted to drink and she asked for a scotch & soda)

I won't go into everything that this woman has been through in the past three weeks...it sounds like a bad tv show, but now she is sleeping, eating and looking 80% better.

The power of friends and blundervibes. Thank you friends. This would be impossible without you all to vent too.

Hi kids...

Mrs. T. was admitted on 1/1, discharged 1/7 and admitted hours later on 1/8 (today). Naturally this is all taking its toll. 1/7 around 6pm she was sitting up in bed munching on the cookies that Pam made, (which was a really cute scene - choosing and picking out the most appealing of all the appealing cookies) me and her watching Jeopardy with her whippin my butt. (Even on the Disney questions). But things went downhill fast this morning Jan. 8.

Anyway, Hospice is arriving tomorrow, and she will be discharged again with an incredibly detailed medical plan that Michele has managed with her doctors and Hospice.

During a very recent conversation, Mrs. T. told me that I gotta "be tough" so Im sharing that with you all. But she's "tired of all this".

I think its time to start sending Michele some vibes too. This is hard on her in so many ways.

The vibes to Michele and to you were already going, but they're kicked up a notch, as is said. Love to all three of you.

I'm reminded of Art Buchwald, who checked himself into a hospice, only to check himself out the front door some months (8?) later, and went on to live for a bunch of years more than anyone expected...

Hi just a quick update - Weds night she got back to where she lives and because of Michele's multiple phone calls and persistence - hospice was all in place.. They have someone coming in 2 hours a day to help her eat lunch & gave her among other things a new bed thing that has made her very much more comfortable and she had a good night. She fell asleep by herself and everything. Thursday night, wasn't her best night tho, although she's still ate some of Pam's cookies!!! It was the first time I went through her having chest pains in my presence...that was scarier than I figured. But a few meds later, she was comfortable and sleepy. I didnt see her last night, but I'll give you an update ASAP.

Michele said she's going to get on this thread sooner or later, to thank you all. (But I will for now) Its very comforting to come here and know we're not alone. Michele and I are getting a little wacky just going to work and the hosp. and not much else. AND Arnie - thank you so much for what you said. That's my most huge hope!!
