Ok, nobody had to get hurt, cuz there was no vegemite. :)
There was a photograph of Louise that she sent from Oz that got hung up with some tape on the lawn tent.........and sometime during the tailgate the wind blew the top piece of tape off, and Louise was hanging there upsidedown.........it was then we figured out that Louise was in Oz, and she SHOULD be hanging upsidedown in relation to us........but we fixed her up anyway as not to confuse anyone that didn't happen to own a globe and give them the wrong idea or nuthin'.

Oh, nooooooo..........!!!!!!!!!! From the news:

THE United States has slapped a ban on Vegemite. ... "I was flabbergasted." Paul Watkins, who owns a store called About Australia in San Antonio, Texas, said he had been forced to stop importing Vegemite six months ago. ... "We have completely stopped bringing it in," he said. "(US authorities) have made a stance and there is nothing that can be done about it."

Don't tell a Blunderite that "nothing can be done about it!" Larry could spearhead a Free Vegemite movement. We could wear little brown ribbons, walk into the nearest Food & Drug Administration office and sing a bar of ...

Nevermind.

But seriously.....did you read some of the comments at that first site???
(There's no accounting for taste... News.com.au)
You've started the VEGEMITE WARS Larry!!!

Aussie against Yank, Yank against Yank and the Canadian Aussies who get searched at the boarder!!!!! They're even getting into stuff like who saved who in 'Nam and stuff about Rednecks and guns for goodness sake!
It's a real can of worms!!!

Soon on the story board I will write a story called "How liking Vegemite saved my Butt" subtitled "What would have happened to me if Vegemite had been banned in the U.S. fifty years ago" Stay tuned.
(I really DO love you Larnie)

I had never heard of "vegemite" until this morning when some reference
-- which I missed -- was made to this mysterious substance on CBC
Radio. Now it has turned up here. I am still unaware what vegemite is.
I figured I would Google vegemite and learn a thing or two. This is a
big news item. It is a raging controversy. But WHAT IS VEGEMITE?

vegemite is a by product of the brewing industry

The spent yeast is separated, lysed and dried then processed into a substance that can be spread on crackers and such. yummy yummy

It is better than a vitamin pill!

So what is your problem Larry?

well this all seems consistent in a dreadful kind of way...even the part about the vitamin pill which reminded me of when i'd stayed over my friend's house one night and at breakfast i remember her sister trying to take a vitamin pill...one vitamin pill!...and she gagged and threw it up onto the floor which made us all laugh...even her! because she was okay really, and we all thought it was absurd...

we were strange kids i guess...

Never underestimate the power of vegemite. Someone slipped my husband's relation one while he was a prisoner of war and it saved his sight! Promite is sweeter though.
