I didn't know where to post this without starting a new thread. Our friend Geoff died yesterday of heart trouble & tonite we go to the funeral home viewing. It's so sad. He was only Arlo's age. I think he told us once that when he was in Name he used to play Alices & 123 What Are We Fighting For by Country Joe & The Fish to piss off his commanders lol. Anyway he leaves behind a wife of 5 yrs. Seems like just yesterday that Mike & I, Debbie & Carl & Geoff & MIchell all went out to eat at Applebees after the wedding & then went to Walmart. If you have friends & family this holiday season hold them close in your heart & be glad they are still here with us. The family could use prayers I'm sure...

Oh, Cheryl... I'm so sorry about your friend Geoff. My condolences to you, Mike and the family.

Thanks. We feel for his wife Michelle as she has to go thru this for Christmas. We're inviting her over New Yrs when we have Debbie & Carl over. We always invited Geoff & her over then too. It's such a shock but we know he's in a better place & not suffering from his heart trouble & diabetes anymore. So sad...

It's not too "Brrrrr" here this morning, but is supposed to get colder through the day and maybe some snow tonight.

Good morning all,its hovering around or just above the freezing point here."Freezing rain mixed with rain and periods of ice pellets" LOL
The longest skating rink in the world,The Rideau Canal was frozen solid and open for skating at this time last year.Not this year,what little ice that has formed is melting.....
Best hold up on bringing the maple syrup right now Cliffite,most flights in are cancelled and it would be a bit of a drive.

It's in the high 90's here and I'm sittin' at the 'puter in a sarong and the aircon is blowin. Gotta go do some mowing this arvo when the sun goes down a little,it's a jungle out there!

I guess I get to see the New Year in about 15 hours before you guys so I guess I'll have to celebrate twice, once in Vegemite time and once in Celery time. At half time between the two I could have some celery with vegemite up the middle? (it is ummy despite what Larry says, though I still prefer peanut butter)
We're having BarBQ on NYE, with our daughter and her boyfriend, then John will whip up his traditional Dutch NYE treat of Ollie Bollen, except he makes it with sultanas instead of rasins, and I prefer apple in mine. MM GOOD!
Then at eight thirty as we have for about the last 12 years, we will tune into our multicultural station, SBS, and watch "Dinner for One". Google'dinner for one', if you want to know what it is . It only goes for half an hour, and we know when all the funny parts are coming but still laugh our butts off when they come!!
