David Lynch just called me a little while ago. He said that after I called them last week, Gay took a turn for the worse, and became more forgetful and more unsteady on her feet. She fell several times. She was admitted into the hospital yesterday, unable to stand. They did an MRI and CT scan, and discovered that there was a lot of excess fluid putting pressure on a part of her brain, and that was the cause of her problems, so they did surgery last night. A tube was inserted into her brain to drain out the excess fluid. This morning she was more alert and much more herself! However,the tests also showed a small, malignant inoperable tumor on a critical part of her brain. Over the next few days, they will have to decide on a treatment plan for her.

I had printed out all of your messages and mailed them to Gay yesterday. David received them today, and is taking them to her in the hospital tomorrow. He is so very appreciative of all your good wishes and vibes! Obviously, they are still very much needed. Keep up the good work, everyone!

I hope you pull through this thing ok. You may not remember this but at my very first Arlo concert at the Church I sat right behind you. You turned around and introduced yourself, the first person to do so, and asked me where I was from. When I told you South Carolina you told me you had grown up in North Carolina, then you told me you were Arlo's oldest groupie.
That first meeting meant a lot to me and I will probably never forget it.
