WooHoo!!!
I'm glad to hear this latest development! These people put it all on the line, and they deserve honor as much as anyone else in their unit!

Larry and Linda: Thanks, and please do keep us posted on what happens/what you find out. Also please tell Aaron we'll be standing a little straighter on Friday, and thinking about him and his unit.

I wonder where else this kind of thing may be happening. We have got to be vigilant for the next 3 years and 346 days.

Well, I got to this thread late & am glad to see that the matter is resolved. In reading this, my biggest surprise is that so many of you were surprised---after all, in King George's America, we can't let anybody see that the war is anything but a bed of roses. This parade sounds like it was to be another contrived FOX NEWS "news event" - much like the staged Florida "riots" that stopped the 2000 recounts.

Wasn't Truman's nickname "Give-'Em-Hell Harry"? Now we got "Give-'Em-Hell Larry"!!

Joe, not surprised. Just angry. I was going to say 'pissed,' but this being a family-friendly forum and all, decided to say 'angry.'

When i called the Gov's office, they forwarded my call to the military affairs office. I got a call back from the commander sargent major within an hour and a half. The thing has been resolved, and had been before i got my call back. Some of the guys were miffed that they were not "invited", but still really didn't care to attend. So don't know if i was doing them a favor or not! There was alot of military technical mumbo-jumbo about the medical evac guys now being assigned to another unit and stuff.......yada,yada,yada. in short, some may now have to go, even if they don't care to.

Hi, all! I sure am glad to see that enthusiasm works, even if it sometimes backfires a little. It's good to know that someone is sticking up for our boys. Best of luck and good vibes to all involved.
'Bet those medals show up soon, too.

I, too, have always viewed these forums as being oriented toward a lot of families----the Addams Family, the Manson Family, etc.

one of Aaron's fellow soldiers that was injured in combat(one of his best buddies) was working along the same lines as i was through his chain of command.otherwise, i would have not gotten involved unless invited to do so. When I spoke with the sargent major, i explained that one of my concerns was that this may have been an effort by some to not have the injured "displayed" in public. He assured me that was not the case.
