RB, I'm very curious too, for a very selfish reason! Do I need to pack bribe money? I was planning on driving through Canada for the October church gig ... maybe I oughta plan a more southern route. I don't have any past convictions or anything, but this is sounding way weird.

PamRam...

If you have no prior convictions, and no one else in your vehicle has either... you shouldn't have any trouble. I wasn't worried about my crossing, since I have nothing on my record. Worst that could have happened with me by myself is if they had asked if I was bringing any food... I had stuff in the cooler which they could have confiscated. I crossed at Ogdensburg/Prescott which is the same crossing RB tried.

From what I understand, they do random checks of licenses to see if any record... they looked at me, looked at my license, asked a couple of questions, recorded my entry and I was on my way. Took all of a minute and a half. They did stop Arlo's bus at the St. Lawrence crossing for three hours... don't know the reason for that, but we know Arlo has been arrested. I think they were looking for garbage!

Isn't all the "new" security really weird? Especially leaving the US?

Although this one isn't Arlo-related, I thought I'd share, since it has to do with security and weirdness.

On Sunday, I took my daughter to an Orioles game; it's our "annual" trek down to Baltimore. Each time is different, this year we WERE allowed to bring in drinks from outside and I didn't have to have my backpack "measured" and tagged.

But, at the security checkpoint, we were asked, "do you ladies have any weapons with you today?" I said "no" and then he actually asked me to "declare" what I did have in my bookbag. I could have told him anything I wanted... all he was interested in was, "are the bottles glass or plastic? do you have cans with you?"

I sure feel much safer now.

Dedicated to Arnie: Not to turn this into an 18.5 min ballad or nuthin, but Wyld's right!

* I also figured the random stop. My stepsons car is registered in my name. Had I borrowed a differant vehicle, I'd of upped the anty on me getting over. It's all about criminal history. I'll leave the long version out.

AKA: If ya aint never been arrested you got nothing to worry about!

Next time Wyld I'll just steal a car, and I won't have that, check out the plate dude!? Of course I'll make sure it's a Sunday and the one I steal (borrow) owner's sleeping soundly...

Does that clear it up for everyone!!??? Jesus I hope so...
