Wyld, I'm with Pickle--send us the snow--we'd love it. (We'd love it more on a workday, but we'll take what we can get down here!

Oh, I wish I could be there. To schlep boxes and to have a word with a certain daughter. Nathen has that right--"FOR SALE." Might be interesting to see how rapidly someone could move when motivated.

Sending B-Vibes to lighten the weight of boxes; best I can do.

Wyld, it'll work out, but you have my sympathy. I haven't moved in many years, but used to do it often and I remember some "interesting" moving experiences. Anyway, hang in there and blundervibes coming your way.

Thank you everyone for your good thoughts...

I'm relaxing now, with a glass (no... a paper cup) of wine... took some tylenol, too for the aches.

Alida finally started "packing" at 9:00 tonite... I wonder if she was hoping the Elf would do it for her?!? I brought 19 boxes over to my apartment earlier, and packed the car again, another 23 boxes, for a trip over tomorrow morning. Not sure how much help I'll be getting from the friend with the truck, but another friend is calling a friend of hers... we'll see what happens...

My other daughter, Elf... yes that is her name... she would kill if I told that her full name is Elfriede... well she will be here on Sunday and plans to stay til Monday, and help as much as she can. If no truck comes thru by tomorrow afternoon, I'll rent a van... and we'll be okay.

I realize now that I was near panic this morning... but your good wishes and your humor help a whole lot... thanks everyone... now if we can just get the ice and snow to go somewhere else... heehee... (setting my fans for south!)

Love you all! Thanks again! I'm unplugging the computer in the morning, and my next post will be from my new apartment...

I'm glad it's a little better. A paper cup of wine is a great curative and restorative. Those box-lightening vibes are still going to you; they'll be followed by dust-and-dirt-disappearning ones.
Edited to say--For a real mood-lightener, be sure to read honorlovesxavier's post on Arlo's Restaurant. Sure made my day!

WHEW!!!

Just about all of my stuff is at my new place... wall to wall boxes at this point...

My friend did help me a bit on Saturday but we could not do everything in one day... we had a lot to do, especially since Alida was still trying to figure out how to pack. Elf came on Sunday, we rented a van, and got the bulk of it done. There is a bit of Alida's stuff, and two or three things of mine still at the old place, and that will get taken care of tomorrow. Then I clean the old place before turning over the keys and getting security back on Friday. At that point it is MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

I requested a weather miracle and realized later that I didn't ask for enough! We were expecting an ice storm early Saturday morning, and I asked for no ice on Saturday... and that worked - but we had occasional cold rain, which was uncomfortable, but didn't stop us... Then there was a good bit of icing this morning, and i went to two stores to find some ice-melt stuff...

I should have asked for good weather and no ice for the duration of the moving! I should not settle for a little miracle, when a bigger one is just as possible!

Anyway... I'm in my new place... I have my wine in the fridge, and life is good and getting better! Thanks again to everyone for your blundervibes!

Glad the move is basically over. Now comes the other fun part--unpacking! Personally, whenever I move (and I hope I never do again), I can never wait to get some pictures on the wall. A place never feels like home till I do that.

Glad you got moved and things seemed to go "A Okay". Maybe some blundervibes will shake those boxes so they'll fly open and unpack themselves. We can only hope. We're supposed to have some snow, sleet and freezing rain tonight, Wednesday, and Thursday, so maybe you did send some this way.

Cheers to you and your new place!!
