So am I :) Yesterday he was complaining how his stomach hurt so bad. Turns out he had a hoagie with cheese and didn't take a lactase pill. Well, maybe he'll finally learn! I told him that he's not having ANY dairy when he's here in 2 weeks. His answer? "Whatever." <-- just like that!

We just got the results of Michael's latest biopsies. His numbers haven't changed in spite of the meds he's been on. His chest pains and stomachaches, however, have diminished!

They are now putting him on what they're calling "elimination diet," which means they'll take something out of his diet for several weeks or more. Then they have to repeat the biopsies! If his numbers don't come down, they'll eliminate something else and then do more biopsies.

On a more positive note, he's flying out here tomorrow and we're spending the weekend hiking Arches National Park and Canyonlands Natin Park in Moab, UT.

I'm so glad to hear that Michael is feeling better. The "process of elimination" method is often an integral part of of the scientific method, but can take some time......sort of "hit or miss". Have a great time hiking and spending time with him! :D

Hope you had a nice weekend with your kid and that it will not take long to find out the bad food.

Michael and I had a fantastic time together... not a single argument or even disagreement. If I told him he couldn't eat a certain food, he didn't prolong it. The weekend was terrific!

We hiked several of the major features at Arches National Park in Utah and he also hiked Wilson Arch about 1/2 hour south of Moab. We went to Mesa Verde National Park in Cortez, Colorado and he walked the trail down to Spruce Tree House (I didn't because I knew I couldn't walk back up!). Then on to Durango for Oktoberfest and lots of shopping and scenery. He decided he'd like to move there and was disappointed that his dad can't retire from the state of PA job for another 8 years.

However, he's sick again. Now it's pneumonia (according to his latest Facebook post), or bronchitis. Either way, he apparently had a fairly high fever on the way home from last night's PHILLIES game. Today the school nurse sent him home. Doc prescribed antibiotics and steroids. He'll be fine in a few days... this is "standard procedure" for Michael.

Sad thing is, Fall is progressing at a normal speed in our town and his business partner has a broken wrist and is in a cast... now Michael's sick... I certainly hope that their clients understand and cut them a little slack (they've been in business for 4 or 5 years now).

I am sorry to hear that Michael is sick again and glad that you two had a good time together. Mesa Verde brings back memories of a vacation 30!!! years ago.
Let's cross fingers that the customers will be a bit patient.
