Revival 2009 will help celebrate three anniversaries:
40th anniversary of the launch of sloop Clearwater, October, 1969
90th birthday celebration and tribute for Pete Seeger
400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s voyage up the Hudson River in 1609 June 2009 Sat 20 Sun 21 Great Hudson River Revival

Im not just picking on Arlo, Im sending this to everyone I can think of that Pete has helped, touched or inpired. (This will take me till June and then some Im sure.) ut Im on a mission.

Last year, to be honest, the revival had no big name except Pete. I kept thinking, where are all the people he helped? I know they're all busy but...It was a sad commentary.

I am asking all the Guthries - if they possibly can spare the time - to get in touch with whoever they need to - to be involved/perform at Clearwater this year - to make it a HUGE success.

And all you Blunderites who say - I really ought to check out Clearwater some day - Drag your dad with you if you have to - but please try to make plans to be there. If you've never been - you are missing something wonderful.

I can help you with any info, let me know and I will research it until I find you an answer. I will step off my soap box in June.

Regina's so right on with this! I was there 10 years ago and it was fabulous. I have a PBS documentary video from even longer ago than that and it inspired me to get there "someday." The Mid-Hudson is absolutely gorgeous! What a beautiful weekend.

Pete was nominated for a grammy!
