How 'bout them Tigers? How 'bout them Lady Vols?

It's good to be here. To those who remember me at all, hello, hope you're well. To those who are new here since I stopped posting regularly ... Hello and nice to make your acquaintance(s).

Seriously though: where are all y'all folksingers and stuff? Memphis may be the best kept secret in America, but it can't be that far off your respective beaten tracks. Anyplace that allows for the birth of the Blues, Rock and Roll, and St. Judes Hospital can't be all bad.

It's not like I can afford to go to concerts and all yet, so it's not like I can impose in any kind of real and physical way, should that be the worry. True, I may be getting in touch soon in an "official" capacity providing a certain job comes through, so I'm touching base a bit these days. (Thought you might want fair warning...) However, a call to New Paltz tonight -- and some other calls earlier this year -- were all awkward enough to make it unlikely that anyone up there will be dealing directly with me.

Lets just say that 20 years of total insincerity from people in Woodstock, paranoia and incredible slander about me and my folks, plus being under attack the whole time I was there, were quite enough for me. Music and the music business I know, and can tell people down here who to get in touch with (and who to be wary of) up there, but not many people know me anymore, and I'd as soon keep it that way -- at least until there are certain changes, if and when.

Not sure where this is coming from, out of the blue like this. Those who don't know what I'm talking about will of course think I'm nuts, but that's always been the case. Guess I'm just trying to connect again, on a level that some folk get and others don't. Thank goodness for places like Memphis though, where tolerance, open mindedness, and common courtesy remain alive and well.

There's a reason I'm writing. It's not an agenda -- although the agendas of others are what made me think of touching base. Maybe it's just me, but I swear I saw this Forum being infiltrated by people with a very specific agenda, who are masters at propaganda, and who have more or less hijacked the Left. No idea if they're still here, hope not, don't want to know, hope they've gone to some other place to spew their hatred, intolerance and greed. Lockstep and hate don't belong here at Arlo Net. I'm hoping they didn't hurt too many people overmuch, but it's too late to say that anyway.

Yeah, well: what did you expect from someone in Memphis? Madrigals? Blues, guys. Blues. (I got 'em, and know how to use 'em. ) Wishing you all well (you know who you are), and wishing you deliverance from the sad state of affairs up thataway.

And here's hoping for a Tigers and a Lady Vols win!
