As some of you know, my daughter Laura went to Ghana, West Africa on a mission with a non-profit organization to teach kids in the schools in the villages around Accra about AIDS and safer sex practices, using dance and dance-dramas. She's finally had time to post her photos on her blog. She was there from October 4 to Nov. 29.

She's home now...back to work (they love her, and gave her a 3-month leave of absence) and is currently taking a class in public administration. She had a terrific time in Ghana, and is anticipating going back to volunteer for several months in 2008.
We (me, her dad and brother Kevin)met her in Cairo, Egypt on Nov. 30, and had a long overdue family vacation (it's hard to get everyone to have vacation at the same time!!) visiting pyramids, tombs, museums, temples, an oasis or two, the Nile river, and a few mummies, who were mum on all subjects and didn't have anything to say. We returned home on Dec. 18.
I felt like we were experiencing the History channel, live!! Too cool, and we took about 5,000 photos between the 4 of us. They take security very seriously, and it was a safe place to visit.
