Late to my own thread! Thanks to everyone for all the good wishes. We celebrated with a Broadway show and dinner with friends at an Irish pub where our son's art is being shown. Topped off with two chonklit cakes. One at the pub and one shared with Jay at the church tailgate. Thanks so much Reg, Love you!

Better late than never--adding my best wishes to all the others! I sure do hope to get to some serious blundering after a couple of family weddings this Fall.

Cyndy, I've given this alot of thought since you posted yesterday. What you did was rude and calls for an apology, not an explanation that attempts to put the incident in a better light.

Well - if it's an apology you want, what can I say? I apologize. I don't think I was rude -- if that's what you think, then you don't know me at all -- I was just talking to some folks I haven't seen in a while and then moved back to the end. My daughter wanted no part of 'talking' to anyone and wanted to get out of the rain -- so she waited for me at the top of the stairs until I got there. I think it's all a big misunderstanding. Sorry.

Cindy, first I really regret you felt a need to discuss this on a public forum, but that was your choice. Second, Whether I really know you or not what you did was extremely rude however you look at it. You arrive minutes before the doors open and join our group. When the doors open your daughter races to the front of the line and you step in front of me and my friends, thats rude. When I tell you I have been in line over an hour and I hope you are not going in before me you hit me and tell me "ssh I'm with you.", That's extremely rude. You only went to the rear of the line after I said you were NOT with me and you belonged behind all the others who had been waiting quite some time. You seem to be sorry there was a misunderstanding, but I don't think there's a misunderstanding at all. You wanted to jump the line and was using my friends and I to do it and we did'nt go along.

I'm one of the friends John is referring to. I am also sorry this became public, but since it did, I am compelled to say that there has been no misunderstanding. I heard it all and it was just as John said, and I joined John in saying that you could not cut in. Your daughter stayed with you until George opened the doors, and then you told her, "Go!" and she ran to the front, not stopping until you told her to because we had stopped you. Showing respect for each other is a part of what makes the Church "Home" for many of us. Let's keep it that way, please.
