I'm with you Zap, I never met Gay, but she must have been a lovely, fun, good to be around person, for our friends here to have cared so much about her.

Things certainly won't be the same at the Church without, as Gay herself put it, "Arlo's oldest groupie."

We'll miss you Gay, though you will always be with us in spirit.

BTW for those of you out there who never met Gay and would like to see a couple of nice pictures of her (in one of them she's sitting on the top step) e-mail me at RCH1829@bellsouth.net and I will e-mail them to you.

hey baldwin - send me those pix if you have a chance!
I like the title of Arlo's Oldest Groupie... it's how I sometimes explain what I do in my spare time to other people... and then they all move away from me... <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/rolleyes.gif" width=15 height=15>

seems we tend to lose loved ones close to the fall around here...

Sherry let us know about this a few days ago, but we were having some connection problems.

I was so sorry to hear about this, but so glad that Gay spent her last years doing exactly what she wanted to do and had such a wonderful companion with whom to do it. We'll never, ever line up for seats at the church without thinking of her.

After several days of playing telephone tag--aggravated by the fact that I was dogsitting and sleeping in another house--David and I talked last night. He said that if anyone would like to send some sort of contribution in memory of Gay, the Guthrie Center would definitely be the place she'd choose. He said she considered it "her church", and was the only one she belonged to. I kind of figured that's what he would say, but didn't want to be presumptious in case there was another organization she really cared about.

So that's the scoop. If anyone would like to make a contribution to the Guthrie Center in Gay's honor,I'm sure you know where to find it. Thanks, everyone!

We are so glad to hear David will be at the Church. I know Gay will be. Maybe when Arlo gets all that music gear together for the "City of New Orleans" there will be some extra harp strings to send the angels. Just in case it really was Gay who put the wammy on Gordons Steel last year.

Today is Gay's birthday. There'll be a party at the Pearly Gates tonight. I think they'll be serving some chonklit angelfood cake.

I'm guessing that angel food cake will be served with a bit of whiskey sauce.
