It has been 10 years since the American Nazi's attacked my hometown. My great Aunt, who suffers from Altzheimers, was in her apartment just down the street from the Federal building when all her windows blew out and she ran out into the streets and was lost for 24 hours in the tangled mess and blood of the Murrah building. I have friends who had emigrated from Ireland who had a baby in the WMCA across the street and suffered lacerations from the broken glass. I went to visit the site in August after the blast and was amazed at the remaining devastation.

The OKC blast put the Nazi's on the defensive as the country was repulsed by their actions and they moderated into their underground form. Their views still lurk in both the Red and Blue sections of this country and in other countries as well. It has always amazed me how their views can became sorta "mainstream" with tacit approval from voices that I typically associate with rationalism. THis movement is not just political either, they believe God to be a white supremacist male with a handfull of ammo and a confederate war flag. THey suffer from the same delusional confusion and paranoia as Osama Bin Laden or George Bush or any one else who wants to view the human race as a constant struggle between right and wrong with no room for discussion.

I saw pictures of Speaker of the House Tom DeLay rallying his troops last weekend in Houston's Miles of Guns (a Timothy McVeigh type haunt) just a weekend before the 10th anniversary of the OKC bombing. It just seems insensitive to all the victims of unrequited hatred in my hometown.
