gators are spooky at night as their eyes reflect the beam from my flashlight, then the little light goes off saying, I wonder if there are any gators behind me.....you can keep Florida nights, I will stay in the mountains where we only have bears and mountian lions.

I had a bear in my yard this morning.(100% true) I told him to go away, and he did, but not before he looked over his shoulder at me as if to say "What are you gunna do about it if I don't?". These New Jersey bears have attitude. I think they watch "The Sopranos".
I'm just thankful that I don't watch "Jackass", because if I did I might have tried to teach that bear a lesson.

Thanks, Cheryl...just to clariffy....Bill, the patriarch of the Connor family & Nanna's son, retired, last June..... he & his daughter, Betty Colleen, ( yea, just a wee bit Irish), vacationed, in the FLA Gold Coast, last year & loved it, so Bill asked me to go with them...between the relative urbanity of FLA...( Ukiah is a great little town, but, heavy on the "little"), the tropical weather, and the company of the Connors, it sounds like a great adventure. In no way am I disenchanted, with my beloved Northern Calif Coast....and, w/ a 56 year old West coast bias... FLA is still the land of big bugs and hanging chads, to me...(or, is that hanging bugs & big chads???) So, until Plymouth, Montserrat is rebuilt, after the volcano oooooze, FLA may be a fun 2nd home.....I promise I won't pick up a Southern accent, though....marbles are for shooting, not for placing in the mouth, before speaking...y'alll!

Cool, Arnie....now, if King's Point has a putting green, pool table, and/or ping pong table, I can cover the rent spread, for the whole Connor clan & me, every month....Todd would know, immed, what the heck I'm talkin' bout!! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/lookout.gif" width=15 height=15>

I agree with Sherry. Almost everyone in the south feels Florida is a northern state, regardless of it's geographic location.

I thought Florida was full and people were now being diverted to the Carolinas. How did Bumper get in?

At 135, it's easy to slip by the guards...

Sorry, Bump; I have to agree that if you think you're going to the South, think again!

I once saw a native of Florida, way back in the swamps, but by now I bet he has been ran over by some 90 year old woman with a red caddy. The speed limit in Flordia starts at 75MPH and that is in the school zones.
