If you are hosting,,,(in an SO sorta way, I'm sure) a tailgate party, at the gathering, this year, Larry, I have a sincere request...
Please sing the Sarah "n Diputy Song, en masse, for me..Ceashel is prepared to video tape the singing & send me a copy. She has the lyrics, to the tune of the Garden Song..I'll post them here, in the next few days, as well
p.s. SLG's presence, at the singing, would be wonderful, too, Kitty West sang the song for her, once in Morehead City, and, I understand, SLG blushed & giggled..Olivia hasn't heard the song yet, I'll bet...who knows, maybe Johnny sings it, in the shower, already...

THE SARAH'N DIPUTY SONG
Words by Bumper, melody by Dave Mellet
to the tune of the Garden Song

Song by song, show by show
Sarah's reputation grows
everytime she sings, she glows
and her talent does abound (bum ba bum bum....)

In the seats and the trees
her concerts' full of Diputies
fans of Sarah's, they all see
what a great young singer they've found

angelic voice, cute as a bug
though Papa Arlo calls her "SLuG"
I know he feels pretty smug
as they sing from town to town

Dont mean to make the old guy mad
but, Sarah sings better than her Dad
I'm sure that it makes him glad
when he hears her harmony sound

whether Abe or Johnny are by her side
Sarah's songs go for a sweet ride
Grampa Woody's full of pride
up in heaven ramblin'round

whether singin to em, or, just a glance
Sarah's got 'em in a trance
Diputies wanna hear her sing
Everytime they get a chance,,, HEY!...

Wow, that's great! I sure wish I could be up there, but my school work comes first and I have to be in NYC on Sunday for a "class trip"... yep, we do class trips in college, and it's mandatory, part of the grade for the class.

Maybe next year!

Neat song! Maybe she could go to the church show & film them singing the SLUG song for extra credit. Maybe her professors would be impressed. Sorry you aren't able to make it there. Have funw ith your class stuff. I'll be here at home wishing I could be there...

Aw, Larry! I thought the R.O was waived, in the after-glow, of my 9-27, b/day...!
and anyway, it was voided, the second SLG made her loopy daisy, on my t-shirt, w/ her trusty felt tip pen, Diputizing me, on Jan 30, '02, so... Neener...!

Thanks, Pat, it's a favorite of mine, too... right up there, with "Stairs" , "Highway in the Wind", "Doors to Heaven" & SLGs "River" a neo-classic, for the ages..
