I don't have a set list. I know someone does and will post it. I was there for Saturday's and Sunday's shows. They were just great, and that's putting it very mildly. Arlo, Sarah and Xavier all seemed to be having a great time and it was loose and fun and we got to hear some stuff we haven't heard live in a long time, or in some cases, ever.

The big news:
Abe sang an entire song, solo. He did it beautifully, too.
and
They did Prologue!!! And they did it great! I can die happy now, but I don't really want to go just yet..

I have now decreed PROLOGUE to be a standard at all future Arlo shows for the benefit of those who didn't get to go to Mass. & Ditto on the Abe song. Image
Sounds like a nice time!

I don't know if those other things will be available, but there will be a setlist from a more responsible person, I'm sure and there will be photos. Just gotta give people a chance to get home and stuff first.

Mostly what deb and pat said. I'm sure when somebody gets enough sleep, a setlist will be posted.

*It was nice to hear some of those old songs 'breathe new life', and nice to hear one, I hadn't heard of. He dedicated it to Dave..'Something about Baltimore'...

**I myself am anxious, about Sat. nite's setlist. I remember them all, but not in order. . . . . . .Image. . . . . . .

I recorded both Saturday & Sunday and it sounds great... might be putting one up on the website around Thanksgiving. I would have taped Friday's show if I had realized Abe wasn't recording it on his Powerbook (thought I could just get it from him).

So, here is Saturday 10/7/00:

1) I'll Be With You Tonight
2) Introduction / Fence Post Blues
3) Me and My Goose
4) Big Square Walking - Sarah
5) Coming Into Los Angeles
6) Alone - Abe sang entire song
7) St. James Infirmary
8) Stealin'
9) Here We Are/Way Out In The Country
...Intermission...
10) Prologue
11) In a Young Girl's Mind - Sarah
12) Keys to the Highway
13) Sailing Down This Golden River - Sarah
14) When I Go By Baltimore (my request - yippie!)
15) Gabriel's Mother's Hiway Ballad #16 Blues
16) City of New Orleans
17) Ocean Crossing (for Dan Rottenberk)
18) Orphan Girl - Sarah
19) Amazing Grace
...Encores...
20) Highway In the Wind
21) Goodnight Irene

Sunday night (10/8/00):
1) Introduction / Fence Post Blues
2) I Can't Believe I'll Be With You Tonight
3) Me and My Goose
4) Big Square Walking - Sarah
5) Coming Into Los Angeles
6) Alone - Abe
7) St. James Infirmary
8) Ukulele Lady (Sarah with hand gestures)
9) Here We Are/Way Out In The Country
...Intermission...
10) Prologue
11) When a Soldier Makes It Home (for John Hagler)
12) Sailing Down This Golden River - Sarah
13) Keys to the Highway
14) Gabriel's Mother's Hiway Ballad #16 Blues
15) When I Go By Baltimore
16) In a Young Girl's Mind - Sarah
17) Under Cover of Night (Sarah on chorus - excellent)
18) Highway In the Wind
...Encores...
19) City of New Orleans
20) Goodnight Irene

All I can remember about Friday night was that they did an AWESOME version of "Drowning Man"... The boys in Xavier did a hell of a job with what little practice time they had. The songs couldn't have sounded better and they really add a lot to the show. It's kinda like they add a whole other dimension to the show... much like the symphony orchestras do! I really hope that they all do a bunch more shows together (like Carnegie and the Keswick)! Hint hint... Image

Abeski couldn't do it nor could Cyberman but John C came thru! Image {{Applause}}

Wow, I've never heard Arlo do Old Shep. Hey Arlo you were supposed to Old Shep at a gig Mike's at. Image You know what a big Elvis Fan he is! Image & Drowning Man? I may have heard that one live once!

Set List for Keswick:

I'll Be With You Tonight (Isn't this on a Dylan tune?)
Old Shep
Alone - Abe
Drowning Man
Prologue
Miss The Mississippi And You
When I Go By Baltimore
I Can't Believe I'll Be With You Tonight

Arlo, All these are the church shows stuff you've never done at any shows I've been at. So since you already know em & we've never heard 'em live, I have convieniently saved you the task of having to figure out a set list for the Keswick. How sweet of me. Image & You can also do ALICE cuz the day after the Keswick our church is having a Thanksgiving dinner & I gotta hurry back home the next day Sunday to go to that. The song will fit right in with the occasion & put me in the mood. Image

Sounds positively nifty! What a great time y'all must've had.

Couldn't help noticing that Good Night Irene closed out the set. I have my own fond memory of that tune, although it's got nothing to do with Arlo -- more's the pity.

Backstage one night down at the old Lone Star in NYC, Paul Butterfield, Richard Manuel, Rick Danko, and I were sitting around and somehow we all started singing Good Night Irene for no particular reason. A crowd developed at the doorway that was bigger than the audience in the house. Or so it seemed. They sure seemed to like it a lot, too.
Anyway, it was fun, it was magic, and I sure consider myself lucky to have been in on that one. Can't hear that song, or hear about it, without remembering that night, though. Image

Muffy - When Arlo sings Good night Irene, I can hear my Mom singing it. (Not quite in key) I love it! But quite often when he closes with it, I don't have time to "dry the tears" before the lights come on. Good thing I'm among people who understand. It is nice - isn't it?

*sigh*

It was good to hear the gigs - but it was better to meet all of you all! Image

Dear Lord, I'm tired.

Ah, ReginaC, yes we sure do understand. I saw somebody wiping they're eyes to another song, when I felt nothing but happy. I am to guess those were tears of happiness. I did however find my weak spot. Just a tear or two. Some of those old songs bring back so many memories.

*All these faces looking at me,
Looking through me, I don't mind
I just see a face that's worrying
I loved you when you cried*

*Image
