It would be funny if - category. The State of Massachusetts is looking for ideas to be submitted for it's pick for an image to be placed on the back of a quarter. Wouldn't it be funny to have the church there? After all, it has something to do with Thanksgiving, and that originated in Massachusetts too. It was also one of Bush 1's 1,000 Points Of Light. Unlike the other places being officially suggested, it has a history in song and film as well as on the ground. If you think it would be fun here's the link with the phone number to call in your vote: http://www.mass.gov/?pageID=gov3utiliti ... rs_program

It would sure help our fund-raising drive :)

I voted!

It's easy....

The only thing you need to know is the name and the town that it's in. I called it "Arlo Guthrie's Trinity Church in Housatonic, MA"....

Is the phone voting an automated system or do you talk to a live person when you call in your vote?

The 100 million dollar question which I'd love to know the answer to as well. Does sound like a neat idea. Hope you're feeling better hon. Hang in there... :)

ANYONE ANYWHERE ANYTIME can vote... ya just need to call. I posted it on Myspace and FaceBook as well. It's gathering some steam... What a great way to raise some funds for the things we do. It'd be nice to be able to do more. We're extending the free lunch to another day for example, and people are coming. Tough times means we gotta get going. PLease help in whatever way you can. LOve as always, adg

OK now I get it! I will look for more details on your MySpace page as well. I no longer have a Facebook account. I will call to give it a shot to vote on the quarter, sounds like fun even though I am a resident one state below Massachusetts.

Cheryl, it's really easy oyu just call the number it's 1 800 227 6277 and press five. After you do this just wait till the recording is done and say The Guthrie Center Housatonic. (at least that's what I've said, if I'm wrong someone feel free to correct me.)

I've voted 5 times today!

And I made my friend vote too, except she was like Arlo who? My poor friends, such a shame more teenageers don't know about him. I'll have to have her watch the movie, and hear the music.

Ok, I voted. But I couldn't help thinking how lucky we are that this is for a quarter and not a postage stamp. I mean we all remember the "32 cents" wait........don't we. :)

Ya know, I was thinking. If they put a presidents face on the front of a coin, why don't they put his ass on the back? But then I was thinking some more and figured if there was ever a George W. Bush coin issued, people would be flipping coins to start football games and stuff, and people would ask the coin flipper if it came up heads or tails, and the poor coin flippers would probably say " I can't tell". :?
