I first heard about this at the Cat...and I think this is awesome....folks from three different boards cheering her on! Good luck to you!

Maybe, but it might be kind of tough, since we're sort of coming from opposite directions.

Nothing personal against Arlo, but going to Carnegie Hall rates with going to Mardi Gras for me: never been to either, always wanted to go to both. Although admittedly, the Thanksiving concert does seem like a good time to go, if and when I ever do. Still ... I always wanted to go when Pete Seeger was playing it, too.

Almost got to play at Carnegie once (but almost is, after all, just almost) a few years back -- but that was before I moved to Woodstock and my career in music got cut out of my life.

But today is today and it's Kitty's day. You go, girl! Have a blast and a half! Sure hope we get to see some pictures of you, at least.

Try to relax and remain calm, Kitty. There's only going to be hundreds and thousands and even millions of people that will see and hear this event, so don't get nervous now, I will be nervous for you, and please remember your line I requested.

Thank you guys for those good thoughts and wishes. I kept those thoughts with me all day and night.
Ivan had faxed his orchestra arrangement to me Friday night and I wisked it over to the Metropolatin Symphony directors early Sat. We knew it was a long shot, but they wanted to at least try the orchestration.
At rehersal, Arlo and I played a short intro and the strings came in soon after...it was really beautiful. It was the first time that even I had tried the song out onstage...and it was pretty cool to have the first try be with Arlo and the symphony on the stage of Carnegie. New orchestration is a little like a new bycicle though...it takes a bit of tweeking to cusomize. That kind of thing really needs a little more time than we had.
The directors and Arlo left the final decision up to me, wether we went ahead with the orchestration or not. They were very supportive and enthusiastic...which meant a lot to me. We decided in the long run to go for the accoustic version with just Arlo and me playing.

This whole experience has been eternally dear to me. The dearest part of all is the large group of people who help make this happen. I spoke a little about it onstage, the gathering of folks from quite a few music websites working on a project together. I told the people that if they looked a little closer they might be able to see all the people who were standing there with me....the spirit of the whole thing was truely touching. Thank all of you for your thoughts, wishes and support. I told Arlo that I'm sure it will take plastic surgery to get the grin off my face...
I was so happy to spend some time with Judy and get to talk with Regina...I wanted to stay a little longer. But Gary, Allison and Emmalee had been sitting in the limo waiting for me and were ready to go....they finally sent Gary out to collect me. (I realized that it was getting close to twelve and you know what happened to Cinderella's coach when SHE didn't go at the right time.. )

Lot's more about the whole day and night which I'll post later.
Thank you all.

Well, that explains why you whisked by so quick Kitty. It was Gary's fault. Some of us were off to the side and before we could get out a "Hey, Kitty" you were being pulled across the street. Anyway, I'm glad the evening was everything you wanted it to be and your singing was beautiful.

Well I, for one, never had the least doubt that you'd do great, Kittstuff. And sometimes it's even nice to be right all the time. Way to go!
