WOW... what a great segment...

After focusing on various offspring and the many problems they face, it was truly wonderful to see the very positive Guthrie segment of the show! (not that I expected different from the Guthries)

If you missed it, try your best to catch it next time around

Yes, Sparky, I taped it, and will bring it with me to Havelock... along with the cookies I promised you last year. (The cookies may be a bit stale!)

We've taped it, too. Guthries were the positive part of the show (of course)! Cheryl, if it starts tomorrow in Virginia at 4 p.m., the Guthrie part will start at 5:29 and go to 5:37.

Damn! Missed it and missed the thread about it. Won't be around to tape the repeat either. So, just one question - how many different segments for David Crosby's (aka Johnny Appleseed) offspring?

LOL... so true!

But they only spoke with one... James Raymond, who had been given up for adoption at birth. James learned of his birth parents when he was 30-something, and met his father for the first time when David was in the hospital for his liver transplant.

James' musical talent came early and was encouraged by his adoptive parents. He is an amazing musician/composer.

After seeing so much sadness, loneliness, tragedy it was a breath of fresh air to see the warmth and sharing of the Guthrie family.

Quite an incredible show! Feeling bad I didn't get over to see David Grover (tonsilitus, with Drs. orders for bed-rest) that show kept my mind busy for the evening! (that & the ice cream)

*The Raymonds are quite an inspiration for adoptive parents. You couldn't miss the love and admiration they have for thier son James.NTM the acceptence in his wanting to meet & be part of his biological Dad's life.

**Yes the Guthrie's seemed to be an acception to the rule, when it came to famous Dad's. (Parents) Altho I loved watching Don Everly's son, accept his life as it was. Interesting that he really didn't learn allot of his Dad's fame, untill he saw a photo of Don & Uncle Phil playing in London to a sold out Hall. Always wondering why his teachers requested bringing in his Dad to sing for them. It reminded me of Arlo's story of his kids watching the Movie Woodstock for the first time.

Folk-On Guthries. America's #1 family in tradition. You help keep this alive, for America, & the rest of the world.

PS. Loved the Everly's father-son singing a Leadbelly song together!!!! GOOD-STUFF

Wow, what a great show, and especially great Guthrie segment. It seemed to me (being tainted by having already read the other comments) that they were the ONLY offspring who were actually happy with who they are.

And all I could think of was, next week I'll be seeing Arlo in Ocean City, NJ! Can't wait.

I went over to my parents house to watch it Monday afternoon since they don't have cable on our part of the road. It was well worth it. Not only was it a good & positive segment but Arlo looked so cute! We forced my folks to watch it. They had steaks for dinner & had us eat with them so we had a great evening all in all except for my dumb sinus headache which hurt so bad I slept thru Sanford & Son, The Munsters & Andy Griffith on TVLAND. & I wanted to see those. It was so nice seeing Uncle Arlo on tv. I would've loved to have taped it but my folks & I can't figure out how to get their vcr to tape off the satellite dish... Steak dinner & Arlo on tv what could be better???

Won't get to see it then as church is just ending. Mondays viewing was perfect timing.

I saw it! I saw all y'all! It was nice having a look at the church again.

Clearly Arlo has done the best for/with his kids!

It's really too bad when kids spend their whole life trying to NOT be in the shadow of their parents.
