On TV, I just watched George Bush, The First Lady, Jon Edwards and Eliz Dole step off Air Force One, at Cherry Point Air Base, about 12 miles from my house.

They are on their way to the Marine Base in Jacksonville, (about 15 more miles) to speak with the families of the service people from Camp Lejune who had lost thier lives in Iraq.
Our neighborhood has sent over 65,000 neighbors and friends to Iraq by air and sea and we have , so far had the most military casulties.

Across from Air Force One, two heliocopters sat waiting on the ground.
Our local TV announcer explained that there were two 'copters there in case of any terrorist plans, no one would know which 'copter the President and friends were on.

The President waved at the camera, gave a thumbs up signal, then he, his wife, Mr Edwards, and Ms Dole all boarded the first copter (the one in front of the other...)
