One should only be selectivley oblivious to things worth being oblivious about. That represents the good kind.
If one were to be selectivley oblivious to someone being raped or beaten or something, that would represent the bad kind.

PM DEFENDS 'MORON'
Chretien tries to smooth over aide's scathing remarks on U.S. president

By STEPHANIE RUBEC and DAVID GAMBLE, Parliamentary Bureau

PRAGUE -- Prime Minister Jean Chretien says U.S. President George W. Bush is his friend, not a "moron."

The PM yesterday tried to distance himself from comments his director of communications, Francoise Ducros, made Wednesday.

Ducros slammed Bush for using the NATO summit to advance his agenda on Iraq.

"What a moron," she said.

Yesterday, opposition MPs and demanded Ducros' head.

Even Industry Minister Allan Rock called for an investigation of the remarks while Liberal leadership frontrunner Paul Martin expressed disbelief.

But Chretien said Bush was his usual congenial self and didn't show any sign of having read Canadian newspaper reports of Ducros' stinging comments.

"My personal relations with the president are really good," Chretien insisted.

"He's a friend of mine. He's not a moron at all."

While Chretien was commenting on Ducros' views, his office was not and refused to address questions about disciplinary action against her.

"This is an internal matter, we are not discussing it," said a spokesman for Percy Downe, Chretien's chief of staff.

I guess Canadians just call 'em as they see 'em. Nothing wrong with that.

Sober drivers,,,beware of drunk moose in Norway...hehehehehe
Drunken moose alert in southern Norway

Experts are not sure how it will affect moose behavior, but if you meet Norway's 'King of the Forest' in the southern part of the country, he could be intoxicated - and potentially dangerous.

The 'King of the Forest' - too big not to respect.
According to a report from the Newspapers' News Bureau (ANB), the reason behind the warning is this year's early snowfall.
A warm summer has led to an unusual bounty from the region's fruit trees. The sudden and early snowfall has left some fruit under snowy cover, while still more remains on the branch. This fruit is fermenting, and also a readily available and tempting source of food for the region's moose.

"This is the first time I have heard that moose are getting drunk. But I assume that they react the same way people do to intoxication - some become harmless while others are the exact opposite," said district veterinarian Paul Stamberg in Kristiansand.

Martin Kolberg, head of the local animal committee in Telemark, warns people to beware of drunken moose.

"Be careful when you approach moose that have been munching apples for days. Their behavior can alter and they can become frighteningly aggressive. Clap and see how it reacts. If it doesn't retreat but instead comes even closer, by all means stay vigilant. It can be intoxicated and attack," Kolberg told newspaper Faedrelandsvennen.

Gore meets Phish, Drops Out

The day after hosting Saturday Night Live, with Phish as the musical guests, Al Gore dropped out of the presidential race. Speculation is that the former vice president will be following Phish on tour, joining the mega group's legion of "phans". He and wife, Tripper, plan to extend their successful book tour by doing signings in the lots. The pair will be making their home in a former campaign bus, which they plan to have repainted just as soon as their schedule allows.

Yeah, good ole' Al even seems like he may have had that board that was stuck up his ass removed. I don't know about Tripper with regards to boards, nor do I think a gentleman should comment on such things anyway.
