Don't know if any of you have come across this but thought it might be of interest to you.

I, or rather me and my Beaver Scout Conley, joined in the last exchange. We got paired with a primary school over on your side of the pond. My Braver group (aged 6-8) made a wall hanging

(hope I have attached the picture correctly ?!?)

You register on the web site, and then you get paired with a group or person from anywhere across the globe and in April you exchange your art. you can enter as an individual or as a group. Your Art can take any form, this year I am planning to get the whole scout group involved and we are going to make a 'Reflection Tent'.

It's really cool, sending and receiving peace across the world, only the dead line for regestration is the end of this month, even if you don't think you are and artist have a look on the site and give it some thought.

It's a Beautiful Thing.

Love and hugs
Me

this is new to me.

and is a reflection tent for pondering?

when the sun comes up, and the light begins to fill the tent like a sort of glow, it is pretty nice.

The 'tent' is only a concept at the mo, as many many children aged 6 - 13 will be involved in making it and then we will need to post it - somewhere? it may end up more as a bamboo frame that you can sit under with each child making a Tibetan style pray flag to attach to the frame. We are still trying to work out the best way to go about it.

But Please have a think about joining in, there is as much fun in waiting for and receiving your piece of art for peace as in making and sending your own. Your art can be anything, painting, sculpting, film, music, poetry.... what ever as long as it's theme is Peace.

I have just had an email from the lady who organizes this event, she say's there are many American's desperate to exchange with people outside the US, only she doesn't have enough non-US registered people . So though she wouldn't refuse any one from registering, and please do, if you are based outside the US she would be very grateful.

I just said I would pass the message on.

Just got my match, and it's from your side of the pond again, New Hampshire.

Did any one registered? If so where have you been matched to?

The logistics of the tent fell through, only having a few hours each week and such a wide age and ability range it just wasn't possible. So our pray flags and been reincarnated into bunting. I spent 6 hours cutting the Beavers designs out of felt so they could stick them together, the cubs and scouts cut their own. when it's all together and posted off Mid May, I will post a pic, and post a pic of what we receive.

Well the youth center in New Hampshire has received our art so I guess I can post a picture now. We decided to make flags as each child could make their own bit and then they could be joined together, symbolic of individuals coming together as a team for world peace. the lady I have been emailing has said they have only just posted theirs so we haven't received ours yet but I don't think I would be aloud to post a pic of that?

This isn't a picture of all of of it, it ended up nearly 30 feet long! and the children are on the pictures so I took one of just a few of the flags....

The Beavers are aged 6 - 8y the cubs are 8 - 10y and scouts are 10- 14y

I cut the beavers felt for them as I though the CND's would be too tricky and I didn't fancy dealing with 15 stabbed and cut fingers. The cubs and scouts did there own. They all did a good job, I didn't think it would end up so long though.

They were all really good, one of the cubs managed a dove and a CND all by herself. I'm just glad the youth center had space to hang it, once there work comes, depending on what it is I may be able to post a pic.

But the next time the project comes along join in it's fun, it doesn't just have to be craft it could be song or video.
