According to posts on Melanie Safka's FB page, her husband and producer, Peter Schekeryk, passed away. No details.

My heart goes out to Melanie and their kids. I had a brief conversation with Peter a couple of weeks ago when Melanie was playing here in Colorado Springs. He was an inspiration... he will be missed.
