Seen him and played with him circa 1978 when he moved in around the corner from me in Coconut Grove. He was very talented, and also a wild and crazy guy!!!

According to the DSM-IV-TR, it's all about "tolerance" and significant disruption of socioeconomic functioning  My rule of thumb is: if someone goes completely freakin' nuts 'cuz they ain't got some, there MIGHT be a problem.......gotta go, need coffee and a cigarette NOW!!!

oddly enough (?) this comment struck me as somewhat random!

did something trigger a memory? was it the mr fantasy song itself?

as for the song, my take on it is and was that it is about a person whose mind seemed to work a bit differently than a lot of others (?) (sorry if i am not wording that in the best way) and while there were perhaps bursts of creativity, there were also quite noticeably as well struggles and inner demons (?) and the song acknowledges both. very simply put i suppose.

Pretty much. And as long as it's not causing other significant disruptions in your life.....Like if you held down a job, but maybe spent all the money you made buying more grass. The DSM doesn't say anything about, like, if your "job" was growing it or selling it. Hmmmm :?
